The staff does not seem to be experienced. And they were constantly using the term "short staffed" to answer all of our concerns. More activities, better activities, activities that allow them to socialize with each other more and the food was just bland. It literally was just like canned food all the time or seemed like can food all the time.

Would rate this facility average. Management was responsive. Some staff were less than attentive. Dad would consider this facility in the future but would not likely be his first choice. There was a nice touch as the staff threw my Dad a 100 year birthday party.

Sodalis is an old building, but they do well keeping it up. I have watched the cleaning process when people move out, and have been pleased with the process, as well as the daily cleaning. The staff members who work with the residents are exceptional.

My mom is no longer there. But when she was there the facility was clean. Most of the staff were friendly. But I would not recommend that place. The food was awful and she did not receive the care that we paid for. For example: they only did her laundry once and I did it the rest of the time, many times I had to track down staff to ask when they were going to give her a shower, they did not administer her medicine correctly, activities were lame, etc. I pulled her out as soon as she recovered from her injury. Patients do not get what they pay for.

The medical Director, the executive Director, the sales Director and the receptionist were always very welcoming and available anytime I needed them. The only thing that was a little slow was that sometimes when my dad pushed the button on his pendant, it took longer than we expected.

We have only been here about 60 days. The price is good. I would recommend Sodalis Austin.

If I could move every single resident out of this place, I would!! Every time I visit my family member here, I pray the next visit will be better for more than a day or two after APS is called! From the consistent excuses to why there are endless roaches, why the laundry is never done (dirty soiled linen mixed with clean), residents being filthy, wrinkled, unattended to and wandering aimlessly because of a lack of activity, and minimal caregivers...all the way to managers who seem to never know what's going on, this place is a silver alert waiting to happen! On my last visit the lead med tech wreaked of marijuana and was disrespectful and rude to a resident. The nursing manager does nothing when reports are made about resident care or family concerns. The memory care director is a former maintenance tech who has no clue about dementia. I wouldn't move my worst enemy here. Our seniors deserve better!!

They are always responsive to requests and are always ready to help. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. They take care of any request immediately there's always someone around to help. My mom has nothing but nice things to say about the people that are her caregivers

My loved one was previously a resident at Sodalis Austin for a short time and everything about his experience at this facility was great. Everyone was very nice and communicative before and during the move in process. Once my loved one was moved in, the communication wasn't as great as it was prior to and during the move in but it was still okay. The staff were very friendly during my loved one's passing and helped us make hard decisions at the end. My only frustration was the minimal refund that they gave us compared to what we had paid. Overall, I would recommend Sodalis Austin to others.

This community is one of the best I have come across for a family member! The Executive Director, [name removed] is very caring for not only my family member but with everyone she encounters! Maintenance takes care of any problems seen in the apartments same day. The concierge has a warm welcoming smile as soon as you walk in. Also the Caregivers are amazing, sweet, and genuinely care.

My mother has made friends and enjoys the activities that are offered. Also the staff has been great about working with her doctors and therapists. When my mom wound up in the hospital the staff was great about notifying me. A big heartfelt thank you to the staff at Sodalis for that you do.

They are taking good care of mom. She seems happy there. I visit mom 3x's per week, and see they have mom participating in excercise, games, etc. They are attentive to her needs. They address any concerns I have, and let me know if mom is experiencing any issues.

When it came to the staff you could tell they were genuine and this was their calling, and to others it just seemed like a paycheck. We had to stay on top of the staff quite a bit for certain things to get done. For instance for the duration that our loved one was there, the laundry was only done once. The bed sheets were never changed - we had to change them. We also were paying for our loved one to have a certain amount of showers a week, and we had to remind them to follow through with it. The meals and dining service has a lot of room for improvement. For the most part breakfast was good, but it just seemed like they served the same food over and over and the portion sizes were small. If the lunches were good, usually dinner was going to be bad. They sometimes would serve pies that they would freeze, but they would not set them out early enough so the pies were still somewhat frozen. We also think they could of done much more with the activities - our loved one was quite bored.

A Place for Mom has scored Sodalis Austin 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
