Brookdale Mandarin

We picked this community because of the money, which was a very good price the cleanliness, the rooms were nice and large, and they offered a lot of activites. It would be nice if they had a freight elevator. I would recommend to other families.

I am so pleased with this community, so far we have not seen any negatives about the communities. Our first meeting we met with everyone that worked in the community. My loved one went from a one bedroom in the last community to a two bedroom with less of a cost. The food has a variety of selection to choose from they have fresh fruits that they bring around to the residents. This community takes dogs as well, must be fully vaccinated and licensed.

It's a good environment to have an apartment-like setting for assisted living. My parents have a two-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and two bathrooms, and they're very happy with the decision they made to go here. The staff are great. They're very open and have communicated with us constantly. They did a good job making sure we understood everything, especially regarding the cost and services, allowing for pets, all those types of things. And they allowed us to tour multiple times, which we appreciated.

The community has been very accommodating to the family and our loved ones. They have allowed pets in the community. They are engaging the residents with activities. The meals are good. The community has a lot of activities. The activities could include more diverse activities indoors for the residents. It would be nice to see the masks go away across the board to allow the residents to visit more clearly. The apartment, laundry, utilities, housekeeping, all the meals, activities, and transportation are included in the monthly fee. They have had a dentist, and podiatrist to see the residents recently.

The staff and residents are very friendly. There are lots of activities. The facility is very nice, and they appear to keep it clean for the most part. But the floors are always sticky, especially in the dining room. And the food is not the greatest. But overall, for the value, I think the price is good.

Look into it. The meals offer a good variety. They have something for a backup. I can compare it to a cruise ship with your food. She does well here.

They acted quickly with move-in. They worked with us on the money side of it. And they were very friendly and helpful getting our loved one in and settled. They've been able to answer any of our questions. She does eat the food but isn't crazy about it. The living spaces are nice. We were surprised at how large they were. And around the pool area is really classy looking. The common area is clean but really needs some updating.

I would recommend this community for your loved one and I would say to check it out. It may not be for everyone but it is for some. They have activities like Bingo, socials, swimming, bbq's and many more activities.

So far we are pleased with the facility. Anything that needs to be fixed is done immediatly. Mom seems to like the food very much. Staff is very friendly and helpful

If you can afford it and if you need VA this is the place to go. They have swimming pool, and this was a big plus for us. If I need anything, I just have to call and let them know and they take care of it immediately. The staff go above and beyond to assist my loved one and family. All the staff there are wonderful. There is staff storage, but this isn't their fault.

We chose Brookdale Mandarin at the time because it was the only place that had a kitchen and I thought that would make the transition easier. Everyone has been very nice and their apartment is great. We have had some issues with communication from the nursing staff. I find I do not get responses very quickly which is hard because I live out of state . I know they are trying their hardest in this difficult situation.

There is high turnover in the community, and the staff is not as family-oriented as they were. I feel the staff may not have the support to provide the same environment before covid. I would not recommend this community.

This community is in it for the money. When my mom left there, after only a month they continued to charge us even though she was not there. When we toured the facility the rooms they showed were strictly for show and not the ones we could move into. The bright spot was the medical staff they were excellent. I would not recommend this facility unless money doesn't matter
