My sister has lived at Forest Hills in the Health Care Center for a while. Before the pandemic, they had wonderful activities as well as great nursing care. In the pandemic they have done an incredible job to keep everyone safe, to figure out ways to have safe activities and/or virtual or safe visitation zones (following CDC guidelines). The staff is working under challenging circumstances and they continue to be kind, patient and deliver high quality care. We are so very grateful my sister can live in such a great facility.
I would and do highly recommend Harper's Station. Dad was very happy there. His and my only issue was phone service. It was constantly going down for hours to days at a time. Dad was one of the first residents there so it may have been resolved by now.
The community really helped my loved one improve his mobility and he was himself again. The community was clean and neat and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this community to others.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home is an establishment that offers residence to at least two seniors who have no personal ties to the administrator. This type of establishment provides its occupants with 24-hour care administered by registered nurses. These nurses offer care for seniors who are unable to adequately care for their needs.
This type of facility is a familiar and comfy care choice for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will frequently admit individuals 55 and older which is for other senior care types. The most frequent mental issue effecting residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their decision making abilities, and familiarity, and memory function. Nursing homes are required to provide a professionallly directed program of activities, nursing and related services, room and bed maintenance services, and routine personal hygiene items to residents. Some services come at an extra cost which can include personal reading materials, special care services not included in the facility’s Medicaid payment, and flowers and plants. Examples of amenities and services offered at nursing homes can include bill pay, senior centers, help with legal questions, and personal care (including dressing, bathing, and toilet assistance). A significant amount of residents are single women who have less social support, and about half of nursing home residents are over 85 years old.
