With the means and dining - my loved one is supposed to be on a low carb diet but it is not enforced by any means. There are some improvements with Brookdale Lake Ridge and our experience, I have had to fight with Brookdale for communication which is now getting better but it has taken months to get there. Part of the extra fee that you pay them is for coordination and communication with the family. Something that makes them a little different is that they don't have a tiered care plan. Everyone has a specialized care plan, which is in addition to rent

The move-in process for Mom was a little rough, but Brookdale staff were kind and helpful. Mom is in their Memory Care wing, they are amazing! I would definitely recommend the facility to others. As a matter of fact, we did recommend to a friend and they ended up moving their mom into Brookdale as well. They too, are very happy.

It's more like a family setting. Not a big glitzy appearance like some. A personal place.

The staff and facilities are outstanding. My mom stays active with entertainment games PT with a Dr. On staff. Most of the staff has been at Brookdale for several years. When we visited they were hands on with the residents and so friendly and patient.

Our family had an in person tour experience with Brookdale Lake Ridge and from what we had seen on the tour experience within the community we thought it was great
My Mom has been living at Brookdale Lake Ridge for a month now and I am beyond impressed and happy with them - the staff is amazing. They made the process for me and the transition for my Mom easy and seamless. They gave me daily updates the first 2 weeks mom was there, worked with her tirelessly to help her adjust and feel at home . I just can't say enough about how wonderful and helpful and amazing Brookdale Lake Ridge is!!!!!

Our family had an in person tour with Brookdale Lake Ridge and we liked the person who took us on the tour, but the facility was older and did not seem as bright and cherry as [community name removed].
Response from Brookdale Lake Ridge
April 17, 2023We appreciate you taking the time to visit and share your feedback. We are committed to quality service and care and will review your feedback with our management team.
It was a nice community when we toured. There was a deposit fee for pets and there was another community that had a special for us.
Our family had an in person tour and we were very impressed - the facility was a little older looking but that did not bother us. The staff we met with were great but in the end the price for the care was just to expensive for us
Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice tour but to us it just seemed a little to smaller and a little dingy
We toured Brookdale Lake Ridge and we liked it. We chose another community because of the minimum stay for respite care. Brookdale has a required minimum of 30-90 days; whereas the community we chose allowed my loved one to stay for only 2 weeks.
I understand that my loved one has special needs regarding his level of care. we moved into this community knowing that I would be responsible for providing medical equipment, dressings and supplies. I specifically chose Brookdale because they assured me that they could handle my loved ones needs, but I found this to be untrue. in the beginning I had to make constant visits at various times to ensure my loved one was cared for properly. I frequently had to take matters into my own hands by not only instructing the nurses and staff on what to do, but by also caring for my loved one myself. they also need to hire more efficient weekend staff as I've come in on a Saturday or Sunday and saw that my loved one had not been changed out of their night clothing and hygiene had not been maintained. there were plenty of times when the medical equipment or supplies I brought in were leaking, missing or damaged somehow. I realize that good care givers can be hard to come by, but my loved one has been there long enough that some type of instruction should've been passed down. I truly believe that if it wasn't for my routinely visits and persistent requests, the lack of care would not have improved. It seems to be going better as they have assigned the same nurses and staff to my loved one; but I do still have some slightly reasonable concerns. I would advise others to keep an eye on them. at this time I am actively looking for another community for my loved one due to an ongoing issue with the accounting department. when we first moved in, they provided paperwork confirming that our payment would be taken out through automatic withdrawal. a couple months later, I asked why it had not been deducted yet and was told that it "takes time" and would be withdrawn the following month. shortly after that conversation, I received a form letter informing me that my account was past due and subject to a late fee if not paid within a certain time. this was extremely concerning, as I had been reassured that everything that was okay and had been idly waiting for them to take my payment. I certainly didn't want to be responsible for any fees, so I got a cashiers check and gave it to the office. about a week or so later I was still being told that my account was past due and that I had a balance of the wrong amount. I contacted their corporate office and thankfully the young lady found my payment and provided me with the correct updated information. however, the fact still remains that my account is behind because they failed to process my automatic payment, which in turn created a slew of events. it's very obvious to me that their billing/accounting department is very unorganized and does not know how to communicate effectively and accurately. I was willing to work with the issues regarding the care, but the billing mix up was completely unacceptable. I like the nursing staff that I've come in contact with. [name removed] in sales was delightful to work with and the concierge's [names removed] are super nice as well. there are just some questionable aspects of having my loved one here; and I'm just not pleased with how they handled my account.

Our family had an in person tour and it is an older facility but the people we met with were very nice. However, it just did not seem very stimulating, all the staff kind of just pushed the residents in a wheelchair to the lobby but there was no real interaction. IT just did not seem as personable.
We don't have to much experience with the meals and dining service ourselves but our loved one looks healthy and well fed. We really liked that Brookdale is being enough to offer a lot of resources and to have a good amount of staff on site. They have enough resources on site that we don't have to take our loved one to a bunch of places off site. It isn't to overwhelmingly big, it still has that comfortable homey feeling to it.

The only reason we did not give Brookdale a 5 out of 5, is because we are having some issues with our loved ones medication being sent to a different pharmacy then what we picked. It is being worked out we do think it was just a communication issue. For Mother's Day they had a get together which was very nice, we are able to sit outside when the weather is nice. When we do come to visit we see a lot of activities going on in the main social areas, but on the memory care side we aren't really able to see to much. Our loved one does get a lot of physical therapy and the staff really do seem to like him. For Father's Day they were only allowing up to two visitors so we had ask if we could do a window visit so myself and our three sons could come, and instead of having visit through a window they made a little section in the courtyard where our loved one sat across from us and we were actually able to have seven people there. They were very accommodating which we appreciated.

We chose Brookdale Lake Ridge because of all the reasons above. They took control over the covid situation and had no outbreaks and handled it very well. They were very interested in the residents, they had a vet well and we were able to put his metals up there. It is a smaller community so the care is more individualized. Even during covid, the staff members made sure to keep the residents active and busy so that they weren't isolated. I feel like we got beyond what we paid for here. If you cannot take care of your mom and dad, they will and they truly care.

We chose Brookdale Lake Ridge because of the location and the convenience for us. The room sizes here are fine and adequate for what he needs. They were good about still having activities for residents to participate in during covid. I would reocmmend
