They are friendly and helpful. I don't know about the food, even the basics seem like very poor execution. No flavor and overly salty, it even looks unappetizing. The activities never seem to change, just adding a little variety would be nice so that it appeals to a broader audience such as visits to museums or local libraries or historical places, etc.

Parkshore Senior Campus in Saint Louis Park, MN
4.9

Being out of state we do not get to visit that much, however when we do speak with our loved one she does seem to enjoy the meals and dining service. We do think the overall value for the money is good and based on our experience so far we would recommend the Parkshore Senior Campus to other families.

Meadow Woods - Martin Luther Campus in Bloomington, MN

I think they do a great job at Meadow Woods! The staff here is very friendly and easy to work with. They've been very accommodating in regards to some billing issues we've had in regards to getting funding with the VA straightened out. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and they do a great job looking after the people who live here!

Complete guide to nursing homes

New Brighton, Minnesota

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that provides residence to two or more individuals who have no familial relation to the administrator. A nursing home facility offers its inhabitants 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer health related services for seniors who are unable to adequately take care of themselves.

Nursing homes are a familiar and easy living option for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will admit individuals 55 and greater which is uncommon for other senior care types. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include personal comfort items, specially prepared food, and special care services not included in the facility’s Medicaid payment. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to get proper medical care, exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, participate in activities, and be free from restraints. The most common mental issue experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can hinder their memory recall, decision making abilities, and and familiarity with their surroundings. Many occupants of nursing homes are individuals with behavioral problems, which can include verbal lash-outs, resisting aid, or a tendency to wander. Types of amenities and servicesprovided at nursing homes can include help with shopping and transportation, 24-hour emergency care, friendly visitor programs, and adult day services .
