I have been here since [date removed]. Every day I feel loved by the staff. I have notes because I can't member names and that embarrasses me. The food is better than I can prepare myself. This is a great place to be.

Staff is really nice. They look out for my mother. Like if she misses a meal, they check in on her. Oh the appt transportation is a pain. It's only available 2 days a week half day. Have to get approval ahead of time. And the they drive you but do not assist into building. When it's a large medical bldg this is difficult for someone in a wheelchair.

Reading, Massachusetts

Nursing Homes

A nursing home community offers residence to at least two individuals who have no family ties to the administrator. This type of residence offers its residents 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer specialized care for people who cannot properly take care of themselves.

This type of community is a familiar and comfortable living alternative for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will commonly take in persons 55 and older which is for other senior care types. Nursing homes are required to provide dietary services, nursing and related services, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), and room and bed maintenance services to residents. Some services come at an extra cost which can include a private room, unless medically needed, special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment, and personal clothing. Many occupants are bachelors or widows with less social support, and almost half of nursing home residents are over the age of 85. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to to manage your money, be treated with respect, make complaints, and get proper privacy, property, and living arrangements. Types of amenities and services offered at nursing homes might include injections, intravenous or nutrition therapy, social and recreational activities, and senior centers.
