Carriage Hill Assisted Living

My mom has been living at Carriage Hill for about 2 years. I visit her frequently and really enjoy seeing the care that she receives and the amenities Carriage Hill has to offer. Not only is the staff wonderful and patient, but there are a variety of activities available each week to engage my mom. Some activities are inside the facility, while others are field trips to local restaurants and events. While mom doesn't partake in everything, I do feel there is something for everyone. I also notice the care that my mom receives, and it is comforting to my entire family to know that she is in a facility that is paying attention to her needs.

Mom and dad are in a much healthier place with people caring for them 24/7. Carriage is great with great people All personnel look over the residents like they are their own. A real sense of family.

My experience with Carriage Hill staff has been excellent. From admission, working with the insurance/billing, through continuing care; everyone has been professional, caring, and welcoming. The environment is just the right size. Other facilities I looked at felt too big. I was afraid my loved one would be "out of sight" from staff or might find navigating the layout too confusing. It's always a difficult decision, so finding the right place where your family member is treated well makes all the difference. The ultimate satisfaction is when they tell you they are happy.

The facility is beautiful, my parents are happy there, and the staff is great! It's comforting to know that my parents are being taken care of so well. I enjoy visiting my parents there; it's like a home-away-from-home.

We have been very pleased with the care my Dad has received from Carriage Hill thus far. During our family's quest to find a safe home for him, any questions or concerns we had were answered thoroughly to our satisfaction by the administrators and/or staff at Carriage Hill. This facility is designed with its residents in mind, is well maintained and is very clean. Residents have the opportunity to participate in many different activities throughout each month both at the facility and remotely. The staff are friendly and always treat residents with kindness and respect. This facility has received many awards for excellence. I would highly recommend them for your loved one’s care.

[name removed] the administrator was wonderful to work with. Mom went in on hospice from the hospital. She ended up needing more care than they could offer due to staff ratio. They asked that she be moved after 1.5 months. Very difficult for all of us. They did have some travel nurses at night. Mom had fallen and an incident report was never written. Otherwise nursing was very receptive to Moms needs. [name removed] really went the extra mile as well as several aides.

I recommend Carriage Hill wholeheartedly. It is a very well run business, and they understand dementia. They are helping us work through this difficult disease and all of its ups and downs and difficulties.

In November of 2022 it became evident my mom could not go back to her apartment after a hospitalization. I had heard from numerous friends how happy they were with Carriage Hill (CH) assisted living in Madbury. We looked at several other places closer to my siblings in Nashua but they were cold and un-inviting. Fortunately CH had an opening and after touring with my siblings we decided it would work for mom. She spent 1 year and 2 months there and we all were so grateful that we chose CH. She loved everyone who worked there and she felt loved by them. She enjoyed the outings, activities, hairdresser, and celebrations. There are only 24 residents so it feels warm, personal and like a home. When the end came we were able to have hospice care right there with the staff who knew and loved her. They hugged and cried with us and made us feel like we were a family. The personal care was implecable, the facility always clean (no smells) and decorated beautifully! It was wonderful!

When my brother and I and our spouses realized that our mother could not stay by herself anymore Carriage Hill was just being built on Route 155 in Madbury, an easily accessible and convenient location. After meeting with [name removed] and the chief of nursing we realized this assisted living would be perfect. And, it was. From her large beautiful windows, Mom loved watching people hiking, deer feeding and hawks soaring above the fields in this country setting. She enjoyed the music programs the most among the many offered and she made sure the family was aware of them so we could join her. She loved all the staff and they loved her, missing her when she passed. We were blessed and are grateful for finding Carriage Hill. Mom was blessed having it as her home for the last few years of her life.

It is an inviting, loving, caring, giving, and sharing community of families caregivers and residents.Beautiful setting with easy access to patio with view quiet setting but close to accommodations such as drug and grocery stores. Small number of residents, which creates family atmosphere. Family owned businesses.Food is excellent Overall couldn't ask for anything more.

I am writing this letter to recommend Carriage Hill Assisted Living, to anyone who is looking for their loved ones. My mother had been a resident at the facility and I was extremely impressed with the level of care that she received. The staff was highly trained and totally dedicated to providing the best possible care to all residents. They were always available to answer any questions that I had and they went above and beyond to ensure that my mother was comfortable and happy. The facility itself was always clean, well-maintained, and has all the amenities that my mother needed. She enjoyed going to lunch, participating in the sing a longs and having her hair and nails done. She also loved other activities that were offered and made many new friends while she was there. I would highly recommend Carriage Hill Assisted Living facility to anyone who is looking for a safe and caring environment for their loved ones.

A Vietnam Vet, my brother developed Parkinson's Disease so slowly that neither he nor I knew what it was for years and it went undiagnosed by his medical community. When it came to the point where it was no longer safe for him to live alone, we discovered Carriage Hill, just two miles away. A large home-like atmosphere with private rooms and large living and gathering rooms for activities and visiting, Carriage Hill, with 24 residents was ideal for him. The staff was caring, patient, and helpful with his needs as his health declined. They accepted his growing confusion and mild dementia from the disease with understanding and compassion and adjusted his daily needs accordingly and appropriately. The nurses and staff were in communication with me regularly about him. Attuned to his changing needs, they were able to bring in the hospice level of care he needed when it was time so he did not have to relocate! I am so thankful for the love and care they gave to Bob at the end of his life.

Our mother fell while living on her own, and fractured her hip. After a total hip replacement ,and a stay at rehab , we knew it was time for her to move into an assisted living facility. We met with several facilities in our area, but after meeting with Sara , the owner of Carriage Hill, we knew it was the place for our mom. Sara was warm, comforting ,and helped us navigate the unknown. All her qualities are part of the environment at CH Our mom lived at CH for 3 years and thrived. She was not only cared for, she was loved. We knew she was in good hands. She enjoyed the food, the activities ,and the outings. Every aspect of the residents safety was thoroughly implemented during COVID. The set up at CH is very homey making visits enjoyable for the families. In the end she passed away at CH in the care of hospice. The staff was compassionate and supportive during this time. We highly recommend Carriage Hill.

Carriage Hill fosters and exemplifies excellent Resident focused care in all aspects, including meals, nursing care, activities. Care is individualized for each resident. Families are encouraged to participate in events, etc with their family member.

My mother-in-law lived at Carriage Hill for more than 3 years. The staff were so good to her. From the administration to the nursing staff, from the aides to the kitchen staff - all were attentive to her individual needs. And they were also sensitive to the needs of the family. They made her feel welcome and part of the Carriage Hill family. They provided entertainment and a variety of activities appropriate for her age. They communicated with us all the way until her last breath. I would recommend Carriage Hill to anyone looking for a safe, compassionate “place for mom.”

As soon as we walked in the door at Carraige Hill we knew this was the place for him. We had looked at a lot of places but this felt right for him. It was homey and cozy and felt like a family atmosphere and my Dad loved it. He was very happy there, from his private room and many activities they offer. His favorite was going on their transportation bus to get ice cream. He made many friends there and couldn’t imagine himself being anywhere else. The staff was wonderful and the rent was very reasonable. Thank you for all you have done for my Dad.

Nothing can replace a loved one’s own home, but Carriage Hill comes pretty close! If you've looked at many facilities and interviewed many administrators & staff, as I have, when you walk through the doors of Carriage Hill, you will not only see that it is different, you will feel that it is different. It is small, tastefully decorated, and as warm and inviting as their resident- focused staff. In a few days, the staff knew our mother, became familiar with her likes & dislikes and helped her make the transition to assisted living life. They immediately involved mom in daily activities & weekly outings. Mom always looked forward to having her hair & nails done on site. It was as early as my initial conversation with the Administrator, that I knew Carriage Hill was going to be the right place for our mom. When I asked her why she decided to make assisted living her career, she replied that she and her siblings wanted a better life for their grandfather-so they built Carriage Hill.

When our mother came to the realization that she could no longer live alone in our family home, it was important to us that we find a place for her to live that she would be well cared for and have a good quality of life. After meeting with [name removed], we chose Carriage Hill because we felt confident that the services they provided would meet all of Mom's needs and we were not disappointed! Mom loved the attention she received from the staff as well as her sunny room that was very well maintained. She enjoyed time at the puzzle table, loved the food especially the breakfast that [name removed] prepared "just for her" and was always a willing participant in the daily social activities and weekly van rides for lunch, ice cream and shopping. I highly recommend Carriage Hill and urge you to call Sara and schedule a tour today!

When my mother entered her 90's, and needed assisted living care, my family rushed to what was reputedly "the best" and one of the most expensive options available in our state. A demanding woman who led a sophisticated life of travel and entertaining, she could be a hand-full when she was in the mood. To our surprise, our first option for her care was not a good fit, lonely, corporate, and cold, we made the decision to move her to Carriage Hill in Madbury, NH. A smaller, and more personalized community, we were simply astounded to see she experienced more direct and warm social contact in her first 24 hours at Carriage Hill than she had experienced in a full year at the larger, "name brand" corporate facility. So if you are looking for a warm, loving, family type atmosphere, combined with first class staff and care, where everyone is on a first name basis, put a tour of Carriage Hill on your list for your loved one. My family could not recommend them more highly.
