Corcoran House in Clinton, MA
4.3

The community is always clean. Every time we visit, my mother's apartment is always clean and the bathroom is always clean. Very high marks for cleanliness. Some of the staff is a bit friendlier than others, but they are all great with the residents. The care could be improved for the higher needs residents. The staff is really good about engaging the residents in activities. If a resident does not want to participate, they are good about encouraging them to do so in the future. Corcoran House is definitely worth the price. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we think Corcoran House is doing everything they can do protect the residents. During the community lock down, the staff has really stepped up to assist further than usual. It has been very difficult for my mother to be in quarantine.

Ledgewood Bay in Milford, NH
4.0

My mother was a resident at Ledgewood Bay and things were very good for her when she was here. Communication with the family is solid. The Executive Director is very accessible and approachable. She showed me much empathy when my mom passed away. I wish they had the next level of care for non-ambulatory elderly, for my dad. I worry about having to move my dad at some point because of this. He's still a resident at this facility and he loves it here. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

Nashoba Park Assisted Living in Ayer, MA
5.0

The staff at Nashoba Park Assisted Living was extremely helpful, kept me well-informed and made changes as needed for my brother. They even got on gluten free food for my brother, who was gluten-free. My brother was there for two months and the staff must have been great to him because he had to make sure he said goodbye to housekeeping, nurses, the dining room, staff, and all others. They had many activities and the facility was always spotless. Everyone was always friendly to visitors.

Fitchburg, Massachusetts

Independent Living

If you or your loved one desire the convenience of having your chores managed while living your life at your own pace, you might want to consider an Independent Living Community. Food preparation, recreational activities and housekeeping duties are taken care of while you are unencumbered to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they choose. While policies differ between locations, many residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing support is desired, residents may always utilize the services of independent caregivers. There are an assortment of costs and advantages to balance while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in the plan: transportation, utilities, laundry, field trips, move-in fee, parking, cable TV, and meals. The benefits that pertain to independent living include healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, fitness center & swimming pool, concierge services, golf course, security guards, community activities, and transportation.
