Very disappointing experience. Food was good in the beginning then got worse as time went on. The nurses are very responsible and caring, very helpful.

I feel that my loved one is in good hands there, and the staff have a wonderful concern for her well-being. She is in a semi-private room in memory care and there seems to be plenty of room for both her and her roommate. I would absolutely recommend Manor on the Hill to others looking.

I was already familiar with Manor on the Hill. The community was nice. The staff after touring, let me know that the community wouldn't be a good fit for my loved one.
i feel like this community had an odor to it. The rooms were very small and similar to a dorm room. I did not see how we could fit anything in there. They were also a lot more expensive than the services that were being provided. There was not a calm or serene feeling. The residents just didn't seem happy.
My loved one loves the activities and the social piece of it. They bake, do songs, and play bingo. For somebody with Alzheimer's, I was impressed that she's been doing bingo. We did have some concerns with people going into her room and either taking stuff or leaving stuff there, but I understand that's common in memory care communities. They did find her glasses, which I was happy about. She's been going through a lot of Depends, so I'm not sure what's going on there. But they're definitely working with us and trying different things to get her whole situation figured out. I think Covid has just put a wrench in everywhere. But things have been opening up more, and it's been much easier to come and visit. I work in the industry and have seen many places. And this is definitely one of the best places for her.

There is mold in some of the bathrooms. Things do not get fixed as they should. The owners only care about money. Not their staff or residents. Your family would be better off somewhere else. Please do not bring your family member here. There are bugs every where.

The staff seems to be attentive and concerned in regards to the cleanliness of the community. They are all around pretty good. The care services are good and the food was adequate. Definitely worth the price tag.

Our loved one was in another similar facility and we moved her for convenience sake. Best move we could have made! "Manor" is so much better for her! She gets better care always clean, more mental and social stimulators and is made to feel part of the community of friends are caregivers. Her everyday caregivers go the extra mile for her to feel happy there. Thank you!!!

This community is a leader within the industry. The care and professionalism is worthy of national attention as this will serve as a template for others to follow. The Senior Veterans Council stated "we were fortunate to find this amazing facility." During these stressful times of an aging population, it's comforting to know there are communities securing the final journey of elders with safety, comfort, happiness; which is the foundation of operating principle of the Manor.

I have has my Aunt affiliated with the "Manor" for three years. Who was with the Day Care for adults and for the past year she's been a resident. The staff is wonderful and very caring. The chef is a great cook and meals are more than just the usual. Great choices, soups are to die for. If I need to go to such a place, this would be it.

My mother lived at manor on the hill for about 17 months. The facility has had at least 3 different Directors during that time. The nurse is a part-time employee and on able to handle the number of residents. The aids are unskilled, and we saw evidence that they had rifled through our mothers jewelry and clothing when she was in the hospital. That Care was substandard to the point of being abuse and neglect. Urinary tract infections are quite common in elderly women and it is apparently well known that they can lead to mania and unsteady balance. The staff reported our mother had fallen by her bed and was laughing which is very uncharacteristic For her. We asked the nurse to check her for a urinary tract infection which she was not able to do and is a simple litmus test. My mother had to be hospitalized for a urinary tract infection, Was on antibiotics for several days and in the hospital for almost a week before she was transferred to a step down rehabilitation hospital where she remained until we could move her to a new residence. Moving an elderly person is extremely traumatic for them and detrimental to their physical and mental health but we had to move her because she was complaining of being abused and there was certainly evidence of neglect and abuse. The new director will not return my phone calls and emails and so far has refused to refund our security deposit Without providing any justification therefore. Even before the recent spate of neglect and abuse the Facility was lacking in every aspect. The food is substandard not fresh and not appealing or appetizing. There is very little social interaction among residents virtually no comment area on the first floor other than the dining room and virtually no programming to engage residents In meaningful activity. The staff turnover is indicative of low employee satisfaction, probably lower wages without benefits and certainly there is no ongoing training for the staff. When you are responsible for an elderly parent especially one with cognitive our memory impairment you must have staff and leadership you can trust in a facility These are entirely lacking at the Manor On The Hill and I would strongly urge anyone with a family member living in this facility to move them out that’s how bad it is.

My mother was a resident from [dates removed]. The place has gone so far down hill that I had to relocate her. The staff is constantly turning over and they are ill trained. The neglect is intolerable and my mother complained of abuse. The outside nurse practitioner will no longer treat patients at the Manor in fear of losing her license. I have filed a complaint with the state and strongly believe they will be shut down. Run away as fast as you can.

This facility was a former hotel and still looks that way. It is being renovated bit by bit. Staff seemed caring and residents looked like they enjoyed living there. One major concern I had was the shower seat in each unit is topped with a slab of granite countertop! May look pretty but if anyone slipped in the shower, they could crack their head on it. Not a good choice for a seat -- could be cold and slippery.

Response from Manor on the Hill
September 13, 2017Thank you for your recent visit to the Manor! We are pleased to know that the caring attention of the staff and the very high resident satisfaction we enjoy really shined through. Although we receive many positive comments about the granite enhancements in our bathrooms, we understand your safety concerns. In our experience we have not found granite to be more slippery than other bathroom building materials, such as fiberglass or porcelain. We have also outfitted all of our bathrooms with grab bars in convenient locations for added security. Thanks again for your visit and your valuable feedback!
I had a nice tour of this community. Everything went well, and everyone was friendly. The community looked nice, and well-kept. The rooms they showed me I did not really care for. It was a good experience overall, but it wasn't the community for us.

September 13, 2017Thank you for your visit to the Manor and for your candor regarding your choice. We would love for you to reach out to us and share more details about your visit and your thoughts on our apartments. While we strive to be a great choice for everyone, the decision to move to an Assisted Living community is always a very personal choice and there are many factors that contribute to a successful outcome. We thank you again for your interest in our community, and hope that the choice you made was the best one for your needs.
I think it has been a very good place for my mother so far. They have a lot going on but not too much to make her feel overwhelmed. The staff is very encouraging, they go and try to convince her to join activities. They are even considering bringing the activities to her. The place is maintained well and always very clean. I highly recommend them.
