Ledgewood Bay

Staff made me feel comfortable with my loved one. My loved one was well taken care of and an extremely friendly staff.

It was close to my home. Very convenient to visit. Property was lovely. Clean and most recently painted. AIDS and nurses were friendly. Very pleasant atmosphere. Response to care needs some help. Especially at night. My cousin has Parkinson's and cannot walk. When he went there he did physical therapy, but still could not walk after 6 months. He has to be moved immediately. I'm not happy about this because they knew it was a problem for some time. Now I have to find a place for him again. Not happy about this Overall it is a wonderful community. Lots of activities and everyone seems happy. The grounds are well kept and during the summer months I often saw folks sitting outside in the sun.

Their resident care director is well meaning but very disorganized. I'm never sure whether the folks are getting the care we are paying for. Overall, it's not run down, but certainly not fancy in any way. Meals are not listed anywhere except posted in the hall right beforehand, so it's difficult to assess whether the menus are healthy or have variety. Overall, the only reason our folks are there is because they are in the same town as us.

My mother was a resident at Ledgewood Bay and things were very good for her when she was here. Communication with the family is solid. The Executive Director is very accessible and approachable. She showed me much empathy when my mom passed away. I wish they had the next level of care for non-ambulatory elderly, for my dad. I worry about having to move my dad at some point because of this. He's still a resident at this facility and he loves it here. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

We picked this community because of the location. Good staff, but the facility and meals are just adequate. Food especially is no better than fair, especially disappointing given the cost. I would maybe, recommend others.

Some frustrations with medical coverage (contracted and not good at giving regular feedback). Short staffed at times. Regular staff is kind and caring and willing to talk / give feedback.

When we first entered there was an assessment done and not long after my loved one lived here they increased the cost. Things have settled now. We felt safe having my loved one here, my mom felt safe here. We were in the process of moving my mother to memory care and the staff here are very accommodating. Overall it has been a very pleasant experience for us.

Communication was challenging and sometimes poor. Make sure to understand what options you have for medication management. The food was not very good and was often cold. I would not recommend this community to others. The value compared to other communities that we have used is below average.

Ledgewood bay welcomed my mother in law with open arms. She felt so comfortable there. She raved about how wonderful every single person was. She loved it there. Thank you for making her last few weeks so comfortable and loved.

Mom died 5 days after arrival. Nice people. Be sure you consider medical needs. Took hours before funeral home could obtain death certificate. B

Everything went well for the most part. From what we saw the community looked nice and clean, the staff was nice, and our questions were answered. The thing was that it did not seem like my mother-in-law would fit in. The residents in the memory care needed more interaction with the other residents.

I have no complaints of how things had went for my tour of this community for my loved one. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them. The property was clean and they had a lot of great amenities available to all of the residents. I thought they had a great floor plan that was easy to navigate through it was just not the right fit in the end decision.

The staff here were very nice to my mom. My mom just had a hard time trying to adjust to the new environment that she was in. The community was very nice and kept up. Everyone here did the very best that they could for my mom and we appreciate that.

My husband has lived here for 4 years and is happy here. I particularly appreciate that the family is involved in all aspects of his care. Van is very convenient. The interaction of employees and residents has always been respectful anytime that I have been there. Wish there was not quite the turnover of employees at times.

The Ledgewood Bay was a nice community to tour. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We did not end up moving my mother into this community because we were moving her out of state, but other than that this complex was very nice.
