The value is excellent and the staff members would be a ten out of ten. The care services at this community especially during this year have been extraordinary, and the activities are excellent. About the facility Corcoran House

Corcoran House is a charming senior living community across the street from the local park in Clinton, Massachusetts. Before becoming an assisted living community in 1998, the building was originally a school. To help seniors pay for living accommodations and care, the community may accept different payment programs including veterans benefits.

The community offers personalized care in a safe living environment. This round-the-clock care is tailored to residents’ individual needs, which may include services like health monitoring and assistance with activities of daily living. Along with consistent supervision, the community provides a secure setting with safety features such as emergency call systems and handrails. Additionally, accessible roll-in or step-in showers are available in some private studios. These apartments come in a variety of sizes and layouts.

While living at Corcoran House, residents have access to amenities and activities. Featured throughout the community are various lounge areas, including the beauty salon and barbershop, the outdoor patio, the library, and more. Plus, there is a restaurant-style dining room, where residents can sit and eat chef-prepared meals together. In addition to daily meals, residents can enjoy multiple activities, from exercise classes to different games. Experience an enriching lifestyle in the secured setting of Corcoran House.

Our loved one's experience at Corcoran House was poor.

This was the first community our loved one lived in. It was okay. The facility was nice enough and clean. I liked it alright, but when compared to where we ended up next, they didn’t give nearly the level of care. He wasn’t used to it at all and got extremely paranoid, started developing early dementia, and became extremely depressed. And it was clear that we needed to move him somewhere else.

A friendly, caring environment that provides many opportunities for residents

The community is always clean. Every time we visit, my mother's apartment is always clean and the bathroom is always clean. Very high marks for cleanliness. Some of the staff is a bit friendlier than others, but they are all great with the residents. The care could be improved for the higher needs residents. The staff is really good about engaging the residents in activities. If a resident does not want to participate, they are good about encouraging them to do so in the future. Corcoran House is definitely worth the price. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we think Corcoran House is doing everything they can do protect the residents. During the community lock down, the staff has really stepped up to assist further than usual. It has been very difficult for my mother to be in quarantine.

A most appealing home/assisted living

I've been there twice recently & I couldn't disagree more with the negative comments posted on this site, although they are quite dated. My experience is quite positive overall, the rooms are very nice, each one has a little different layout (after all it once was a school) but quite appealing. It definitely DID NOT have a nursing home feel, more like a very nice apartment building with lovely common rooms, dining room & a most engaging staff who interacted beautifully with the tenants. We had lunch and it was delicious, soup, salad, Main entree (2 choices), dessert, coffee, tea, juice. It felt like a nice restaurant. Will be keeping it on our list, for sure! Can't rate the services as of yet. Only visited.

Good Tour Overall

I had a nice experience on my tour of this community. Everyone was very kind to my family, and I. There were many factors that played into where to move my aunt to. This is a nice community, but it wasn't the one for us. Good experience overall.

The people are awesome

I have been very pleased with Corcoran House. My brother-in-law loves it there. The people are awesome. Even the residents are really friendly. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome there. It is a smaller facility and it doesn't offer an out door area. But across the street there is a park. My brother-in-law is very comfortable here so there is give and take.

Friendly, accommodating staff

We are very pleased with how things have gone at Corcoran House. They were a huge help to us at a difficult time. We had a very limited amount of time to search for senior living, and we really appreciated their concern and all the help they offered with the paperwork to get things ready for my loved one in time. The facility itself is very nice, and the people are friendly. Dad loves it!

Didn't like the feel of this place

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for our loved one. Based on what I saw I just didn't think that my loved one would have been comfortable here. It just had a very old, institutional feel. It just felt too much like a "nursing home", and I didn't think she would be happy here.

There's No Place Like Home . . .

After narrowing our search down to two assisted living facilities in the Worcester area, our family finally decided on Cochran House. We found the staff and management friendly, knowledgeable and caring. The care-givers are generous with their time and deeply committed to the well-being of each resident. The facility is beautifully maintained inside and out and located in the upper area of Clinton. It sits directly across the street from a beautiful park, the library, fire station, and also minutes from the Clinton Hospital. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone seriously considering placement of a beloved family member.

40-residents. 4-level remodled school

40-residents. 4-level remodled school [confining, confusing layout]. average, at best [an occupied lower level unit appeared 'messy, unclean']. none in common areas, but 'new paint smell'evident in vacant/refurbished unit. Activities - n/a ['bible/praer' group in 1-common area]. Staffing appears limited [no one in kitchen in the 1115-1130 slot, 1-housekeeping on 4th, 1-aide in common area doing paperwork on 2nd]. Outdoors - convenient location to 'town park, hall, library, movie, stores.' Rooms - confining layout, outdated cabinets & bath fixtures, limited closet-space, very 'high' ambient noise levels on all floors & very 'loud' piped-in music in dining area [4t-floor units are more open & comfortable]. No 'pt' room/staff on-site. Food -- univiting menu choices. Safety/security -- n/a. Care -- [1]-hour of daily care autmatically included; if 'double-lift' assistance required, then must move out. No discussion of finances. OVERALL - not high on the list.
