The Gables of Fitchburg

The place is beautiful the staff were excellent. It was a very nice place. My aunt was there for a year. She didn't like it. She ended up in a nursing home and she is thriving there. But, it has nothing to do with the gables. They were wonderful!

I would rate each item a 5 except meals and dining. She did have an opportunity to meet with the dietician yesterday so hopefully some improvements will be made. Other than that my mother is very happy with her living situation at The Gables. Yes, I would absolutely recommend them to other families based on the experience we have had,

The facility is clean and very calming and welcoming. The Staff is great, for the most part. There are a few who are not as dedicated as others, but they will rectify situation swiftly. They are very caring, welcoming and proactive. My mom has become part of her old self again.

It has been close to a year since we relocated my mother to the Gables. The family looked at several locations and chose this beautiful 4th floor unit with a balcony over looking a park. The Gables is a community. The other residences, who are able meet regularly every night for Movies in the grand open area meeting room. They have constant different activities for all. There is a sign up sheet for outside activities, shopping, dining out that the Gables bus provides. They even have a game room with a beautiful pool table that the grand and great grand children love The staff is very gracious and caring for everyone. I am always greeted with a hello, and an updated. If you are looking for a comfortable well maintained home for your loved one, the Gables is a place for you

The Gables provides superior care in a family atmosphere with plenty of activities like bingo ,movie nights hairdresser services they also provide help with showering and medications. The care givers are all great and most of The staff has been there for a very long time. They alert family if anything seems off with your loved one. They foster friendships and socializing among the residents which makes it a great community. I highly recommend it.

Dad was at the Gables for over 15 years and it was a very positive experience for both him, and our family! The staff was always helpful and attentive to dad; and made sure to reach out to family when it was warranted; in the continuing care of dad. Dad loved all of the staff; and became close enough to have special nicknames for them all. We couldn't have found a better fit for dad anywhere but here; and are very grateful to staff !!! Thank you!!

The Gables of Fitchburg is an excellent assisted living community. The staff are caring and very patient. The dining room is a pleasant environment providing delicious meals. The facility itself is very well maintained with a knowledgeable maintenance staff who show as much patience with the residents as the personnel assistance staff. My mother’s experience these last almost two years has been all we could ask for and more. It has truly become her new home.

They promise a lot, but later you find out some things are not as represented. They have hired Aides and some are not as good or conscientious as they should be. Things can get misplaced and our loved ones bathroom not as clean as needed, especially toilet and shower. Make sure they deliver what is promised. The administrative staff have been very good to our loved one and to our family as well.

We chose The Gables of Fitchburg because it is a very convenient location to my house so I can visit often, the facility has been around for a long period of time and I knew about them so I felt more comfortable, and when we toured we liked everything that we saw and they had a reasonable price. I know my mother says that they will call a meal a certain thing but then when it comes out it is not exactly what they say. They have fish and chicken a lot, so they could use more of a variety on the menu. The apartments are much larger than other assisted living places that we looked at. If you are looking for a bit more room for your loved ones, I would highly recommend The Gables.

The Gables of Fitchburg is a superb assisted living facility. Each member of the staff is highly competent, caring, and compassionate. They have been remarkably proactive in contacting us family members and immediately responsive when we contact them. We take great comfort in the quality of the care. The monthly cost is better than other local facilities. The pricing plan is quite straightforward; most services are included in the plan.

My loved one likes the soup and sometimes they smash up pasta and meat so that my loved one can have it and she loves the mashed potatoes. They always have activities and things listed for the residents to participate in. They have movies all of the time and bingo too. The staff see my loved one in the hall and always speak to her and her hearing has gotten a lot better and she is speaking with other residents and conversing. They come in three times a day to visit my love one and make sure that she is okay and help her get dressed and then undressed at night and into her night clothes. Even if my loved one has a spill the community will come in and clean it for them so that they are not bending over and hurting themselves. Its even better that the doctor gets to come to my loved one at the center and see them and provide any services that are needed. The community helped us find the doctor and it has been amazing. Everyone seems very content and happy with there surroundings. They have chefs that take care of the meals so everything is homemade.

The facility was well maintained, had adequate staffing, the rooms very spacious, lots of activities for the residents, the dining menu had good, healthy and appealing options. The residents seemed happy. Many were enjoying activities and socializing. Did not feel like an institution.

We searched all options in North Central Massachusetts for a place for my 94 year old mother-in-law and decided on The Gables. The facility, staff and value were clearly superior. What a great choice! I cannot overstate the quality of service they provide. The staff is professional, proactive and responsive. They rapidly integrated Mom into the community and provided her a real home. The facilities are top notch and well maintained. We could not have chosen a better place. My mother-in-law was safe, contented and loved during the last year of her extraordinary life.

The Gables in Fitchburg has been wonderful! Everyone has been so helpful and understanding with such a transition in our Mother's life. [names removed] and all the staff have helped our family tremendously, figuring out everything from financial aspects to the moving in and arranging everything to make Mom as comfortable as possible. She is adjusting well, and we know this is only because of all the people that work there and care so much about her. We feel she is very safe there which makes us feel so much more secure in our family's decision. Thank you for all that you do for our family!

My review is based on my interaction with [name removed], Marketing Director at the Gables. I had the most support and help from [name removed]. I was looking for a place that my Aunt could go too. This was a very stressful time for me since I am a niece and my Aunt was not very easy to deal with and at times became very hurtful towards me. I had been to the Gables on more than one occasion looking into someplace I thought would be best for my Aunt. I fell in love with the Gables. [name removed] was always available whenever I needed a question answered. After my Aunt left rehab and came to my home I then was able to make a trip with her to the Gables. We met with [name removed]and before we could proceed with a tour we met a wonderful resident who resided there with her husband. This woman spoke so highly of being there. She was honest and said when she first got there she wasn't sure she was going to like it. Apparently that changed very quickly and we had a very pleasant conversation with this lady. I had held out hope that my Aunt would like the Gables and decide to go there. Unfortunately my Aunt had lived in the city of Boston all her life and decided that is where she was going back too. Of course living in central Mass this put a strain on me but I have located a place for her in a city and she liked the place I didn't but it was her choice not mine and she is the one that will have to live there. I found it was way overloaded with elderly and not much staff around. My Aunt is 87 and believes she is fit as a fiddle and sadly she is not but no one will change her mind. [name removed] has helped me understand that this does occur with the elderly but I needed to realize that I had done my best and sadly my Aunt will have to find out on her own what I was trying to do for her. I would highly encourage anyone considering The Gables to check it out and contact [name removed] she was awesome to work with and even though my Aunt didn't go there we stay in touch.

The Gables of Fitchburg has allowed my father to keep his independence while giving our family peace of mind because he is never completely alone. He has a nice size, well kept apartment at "The Gables" that includes a living room, kitchen, bedroom, handicapped bathroom, and patio. One of the things my dad has always enjoyed about his own home is his collection of oil paintings. At the Gables, he was allowed to hang his paintings; giving his apartment that personal touch. I can not say enough concerning the staff at "The Gables". From day one, they have made my dad feel like a part of their family. When ever my dad needs assistance, all he has to do is press his life alert button, and a staff member is there with in minutes. The staff also goes out of their way to get to know the interests of each resident and make them feel special. My father is a Yankee's fan and one of the staff members gave him a Yankee's baseball cap. Prior to my dad becoming a resident, our family always worried about my dad being alone and just sitting in front of the television until one of us could visit him. The Gables offers daily activities to keep my dad active; including bingo, musical events, and day trips. The cost of "The Gables" includes three meals a day. I have had the opportunity to have meals with my dad in the dining room and have found that the meals to be very tasty with nice sized portions. In short, I highly recommend "The Gables" for anyone that is looking for a quality assisted living residence for their loved one. I am confident that my dad is in a safe place and is receiving excellent care.

The Gables of Fitchburg has been a wonderful move for my in-laws. They have become so active in all the great things that are offered for the residents to do there and on the many field trips that they get to take. The activities director is amazing, he asks the residents what they like to do and he tries to bring it there for all to do. My father-in-law was a little hesitant when they first moved-in now he is getting involved and really enjoying himself and my mother-in-law is a social butterfly. We are impressed with the friendliness and care that the staff shows the residents as well. I would definitely recommend The Gables to my friends and family.
