Cambridge House of Maryville
3.7

We chose Cambridge House of Maryville because it was recommended to us through family members, they said that it was a well-managed facility. The room sizes here are good, but I do think the kitchen could use some more space. Overall, it is a small community and everyone gets along well here. I would and have recommended for the deaf community. I do think they need an interpreter here to help with communication, that would be very helpful.

Keystone Place at Richland Creek in O'Fallon, IL
5.0

So happy with Keystone!! It is the best independent living, assisted living, and memory I have seen in the area. The facility is just beautiful, and there is so much to do. But it is the quality of the people who work there and take care of your loved one who make the difference. There is so much compassion from the staff. I am so thrilled both my parents are at Keystone.

Complete guide to independent living

Belleville, Illinois

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community permits residents the ability to continue to live an independent lifestyle while assuring their care requirements have been fulfilled. Food preparation, recreational activities and housekeeping responsibilities are handled while you are unencumbered to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always utilize the services of independent care providers. There are an assortment of benefits and expenses to balance when selecting an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are covered in the care plan: housekeeping, internet access, move-in fee, transportation, utilities, private phone, initial assessment fee, and Waiting list deposit. The benefits that pertain to independent living include community activities, laundry service, beauty salon & barber shop, golf course, healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, concierge services, and fitness center & swimming pool.
