So far they have been great. They have a Facebook page where they upload pictures of the residents doing the activities and they seem to really encourage them to participate. You are able to schedule times to eat with your loved ones and the meals look great and we have heard nothing but good things. Visiting is easy and the staff are all super helpful and great with communication and providing updates to us since we do not live close. We have been very pleased with our experience at Villas of HollyBrook.

An assisted living community is a residential community which provides care, supervision, and support to self-sufficient seniors who are not in need of skilled nursing care. Assisted living communities often offer aid with transit and appointments, care supervision, and assistance with the activities of daily life. In some cases, communities may offer respite, continuing care, or dementia care. In Illinois, the annual median cost for an assisted living community is around $50,040 . Illinois maintains a number of stipulations related to this type of community. The Illinois Department of Public Health certifies this type of community. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to ensure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as assessment must be updated by a physician annually or upon a significant change in condition, provider must ensure that the resident and the resident’s representative, if any, are informed of the potential consequences of activities that the provider considers to pose risks to health and/or safety, evaluation of a prospective resident’s physical condition, and evaluation of a prospective resident’s cognitive condition. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include communities must provide three daily meals. This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include non-medical services, medication reminders, security, and emergency response systems. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include medication administration, documenting whether or not the resident took the medication, and reading the medication label to residents. Staff must obtain training in a variety of areas. These include: philosophy and goals, abuse, internal policies, and resident rights. Public assistance is available through A Medicaid 1915(c) waiver called the Supported Living Program and a 1915(b) waiver called the Managed Long-Term Services and Supports program. This type of community is required to have a staff member on duty 24 hours a day. There must be one bath or shower for every residents and one toilet for every 1 residents. The minimum number of residents for this community type is 3. The maximum occupancy is 1 residents per room.
