It's very clean and the staff is friendly. The pricing is about average. There have been complaints about food. Quality and Variety could be improved. Overall they are doing a pretty good job.

Starling at San Jose in Jacksonville, FL
4.6

Overall, our experience has been good here at this facility. We're having a few difficulties at the present time, but we are working through them. The food is very good and includes a great variety. The staff is very cooperative. They've had some staff turnover, including the head nurse. A lot of the Aides seem to rotate also for whatever reason. But I do understand that burnout is real, especially in this line of work. The young lady in charge of the Memory Care unit is amazing, but she's working a lot and doing her best to cover for the staff shortages. Continuity of service is so important, especially with Memory Care. So that makes it hard. The cleaning lady is amazing and always on top of things. She's a very sweet lady and has been here for a long time. They have nursing staff on staff 24 hours a day. The outside Medical Providers come to the facility two days a week. The activities are varied, but available if the residents choose to participate. I think I would recommend this facility to family and friends. Based on our research and tours, this facility seems to be the best one in the area for Memory Care.

Independent Living

If you or your loved one want the convenience of having many of your frequent tasks managed by professionalls while living the way you desire, you might consider the option of an Independent Living Community. Occupants can continue to live their lives as they see fit while their meals are cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and recreational activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they choose. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private health care professionalls. There are an assortment of advantages and expenditures to keep in mind when deciding on an independent living community.
