Bethel Lutheran Home in Selma, CA
5.0 / 5.0

We are very pleased with the senior living experience at Bethel Lutheran Home in Selma, CA. The apartment is large and spacious accommodating any physical needs. The quality to which the complex is maintained is one of the best I have seen. Apartments are well maintained and upgraded. The grounds are so neatly kept that it makes your outside experience so enjoyable. The staff has been outstanding from day one. Their attention to the needs and concerns of their tenants is number one in all phases of their organization--Human Resources, Administrative staff, Maintenance, Housekeeping, the Dining Café.

Valley Christian Home in Hanford, CA
4.0 / 5.0

Valley Christian Home is not the newest facility. But they keep it up. It is clean, well maintained, and tidy. The food is complete and nutritious, and there are always alternatives. The people that work there are also very friendly and helpful. Overall, I would recommend the community to others.

Walnut Park in Visalia, CA
3.5 / 5.0

From my understanding they are experiencing turnover in management and a new corporate owner. This makes the residents un sure of what's going on. I personally think for the price of a room the company needs to step up the quality of food being served. They recently raised rent by $270 and yet the food quality continues to go down hill. Worse than a soup kitchen.

Independent Living

For many seniors, the financial burden of home ownership and the maintenance of daily tasks and chores might deter them from enjoying an otherwise independent life. Independent Living Communities offer a great remedy. You or your loved one may continue to live their lives as they see fit while their food is cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and social activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they choose. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of independent medical providers, they may always do so. There are a variety of benefits and costs to keep in mind when choosing an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in your service plan: housekeeping, utilities, meals, transportation, private phone, initial assessment fee, wellness program, and cable TV. The benefits that pertain to independent living include private rental hall, concierge services, beauty salon & barber shop, restaurant-style dining hall, game/TV room, healthcare center, community activities, and fitness center & swimming pool.
