We were astounded that all aspects of the move went without any glitches. [name removed]was wonderful to work with. She saw that nothing went wrong. Even went to the doctor’s office to see that paperwork was completed.

When we walked into Viva we knew it was going to be special. It felt welcoming and comfortable; the residents seemed happy and the staff were friendly and helpful. We decided it was the best place for my sister to live. They’ve made her part of their family, encouraging her to participate in morning exercises and a variety of activities. And they’ve taken good care of her.

I would not recommend as it is now. I ate Easter dinner with mom last year and it was gross. Mom herself said sometimes the food is not appealing or does not look appealing. I gave them her hearing aids so they can put them in and they haven't done it.

I like how Viva Senior Living is a smaller community and I like the convenience of the location from my home and my work. Yes, I would recommend them to others and have often throughout this past year

The activities person was exceptional with my Mom. Another person in the kitchen helped Mom a lot with bathing. They were very short on help, which caused issues. Mom went on hospice last year and that helped a lot. You get what you pay for I guess. We could not afford some of the other facilities.

My mother doesn't like the facility except for the activities and therapy. It is an older facility than she was in previously. When it comes to the quality of care, the staff sometimes inconveniences her to get a shower. Our loved one complains consistently that the food and drinks are never hot. The activities are our loved ones favorite part. As for the value for cost, I guess it is ok. She had her own balcony at previous residence. But if I hadn't already paid the 3K fee and knew then what I know now. I never would hv moved her!

My mom suffered a broken leg recently and needs a bit more care than we can provide. We scheduled a meeting at Viva and was met by Sabrina who was SO kind and thorough. We feel comfortable moving forward getting our mom in for the extra care she’ll need.

The staff are very accommodating and helpful. It's easy to contact the staff, when needed. I would recommend the facility to others, but always encourage a visit for final determination.

I was so glad that my sister was accepted at the Viva Senior Living. From the entrance to the administration office, everyone made us feel welcome and accommodated everything they could to meet my sister's needs. The facility is beautiful as is all the staff and the recreational facilitator goes above and beyond the patience expectation. I am so glad I can relax knowing the are taking good care of my sister, she is hard to please!

The Director [name removed] is great to work with. She has helped me emotionally as well in making the transition for my mother into the facility a pleasant one. Whether day or night she has returned my calls. I feel that she is a great asset to your company. The staff is also friendly and attentive to everyone’s needs in the memory care unit.

All the staff at Viva have been great! They are very friendly and always helpful. Always ready to answer any questions. They have several activities every day from crafts and exercises to social activities and outings. They are diligent of encouraging residents to participate. Happy hour on Friday when a DJ comes in to play music is the highlight of the week!

Since [name removed] and her team joined VIVA Senior Living Center in the spring, VIVA has transformed into an active facility where residents are family to each other and staff. She is available 24/7 to troubleshoot any problems and she always gets positive results! [name removed], the activities director, not only decorates to make VIVA festive but is infectious with her enthusiasm to encourage residents to participate in morning exercises, crafts or special entertainment etc. Clay, the dining service director, knows each of the residents by name and their food preferences. [name removed], the resident care director, is approachable and follows up with questions regarding resident care. VIVA’s caregivers are hard working and seem genuinely happy in providing help to our mother. She calls VIVA “home ”and loves her village there…and so do we! Covid was hard on all elderly care facilities but VIVA seems revitalized through the combined efforts of Millie and her team, for that, my family is VERY grateful!

Viva has been helpful and caring since day 1. They have addressed concerns and made the move for our aunt and family much easier and smoother than anticipated. Since she's been there, we continue to find them helpful and attentive to any needs. My aunt loves being at Viva. She says it best when she says, "I feel seen. I feel heard. I feel valued."

Mom was having health issues that had her in and out of the hospital as well as rehabs. We were fearful we could not give her the assistance she deserves, the Viva staff have been great at helping her with any needs she may have. We are VERY thankful for everyone there.

A Place for Mom has scored Viva Senior Living At Harrisburg 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
