Country Meadows of Hershey

My 98-year-old mother passed away peacefully at Country Meadows 2 days ago. From the moment we first met the staff throughout the past 2-plus years mom was treated with the kind of love and care that made her fell content, happy, safe and cared for in every way. Her daily refrain was, "everyone is so good to me". We could not have hoped for more and cannot thank the entire staff for what they have done! As much as we will miss mom, we will also miss the wonderful staff and many of the other residents. They are truly like a family. We would give them the highest marks and recommendation.

Country Meadows is a wonderful home. My mother lived in independent living and my father needed more care in Pathways. My mother and father made many new friends. My mother loved exercise class with [Name Removed]. And my mother-in-law currently lives in Connections. She loves Rosie the cat who lives there. My husband loved CM so much after seeing my parents there, he moved his mother to CM. They all love / loved living at Country Meadows. The staff are all fantastic. My husband and I and our extended family are so grateful for CM and we give it our highest recommendation.

My loved one was previously a resident at Country Meadows of Hershey and the experience was not good. I was very disappointed with them. I would not recommend Country Meadows of Hershey unless your loved one is extremely sociable.

We recently moved our 86 year old mother to the personal care level of Country Meadows Hershey. The attention to detail, kindness, and compassion shown to all of us was AMAZING!! [name removed]went above and beyond in helping Mom understand and look forward to her new chapter in life. [name removed] worked with [name removed] and was there every time [name removed] couldn't be. Our needs were intense and they were ALWAYS right there with answers or solutions. [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed] helped her transition one of ease and her excitement to make the move was comforting and reassuring to us as we navigated her new beginning. EVERY single person we have encountered has been personable and welcoming! We thank all of you for helping us through this big change in life!

5 Star My Mother moved there for independent living and then to personal care. It’s obvious that Country Meadows is aesthetically pleasing and clean. You soon learn that ALL areas of their staff are friendly, caring and professional. We had several health events with her during her 4 years stay and each time Country Meadows went out of their way to ensure her safety, comfort and ability to continue to live there. Our saddest day was when her care finally required true skilled nursing and we had to place her elsewhere. My only negative is that they don’t offer certified Skilled Nursing at this site. My Mother certainly wanted to stay there till her end. Now that we have experienced the level of care and personal concern given at one rehab and then at an excellent skilled nursing facility, it is so evident that the care of my mother at Country Meadows was exceptional … it’s all in the everyday details that you take for granted and until they're not there.

When I realized my sister was no longer able to live alone in her home due to dementia, I felt overwhelmed. A friend suggested that I look into Country Meadows. From the get-go, the Country Meadows staff answered my many questions and allayed my concerns. [name removed] and [name removed] visited my sister and me in my sister’s home. Their knowledge and empathy won me over. Their kindness and sense of humor convinced my sister to agree to the move. Once settled at Country Meadows, my sister flourished. She made friends and participated in activities that she never would have done had she had stayed in her home. Unfortunately, as time passed, her dementia worsened. She needed extra care which led to a move to the Memory Care unit. The staff members were attentive, caring, and kind. Unfortunately, the dementia led to hospice care and a move to the Pathways unit. Again, the staff did a great job trying to keep my sister engaged and lifting her spirits. Many thanks to you all

My mother recently moved into Country Meadows Personal Care…… we were completely blown away by the help we received from everyone including management, maintenance, housekeeping, PCAs, front desk & everyone else we encountered …… they continue to treat my mother with the utmost respect & compassion….. we absolutely love Country Meadows!!!

We were fortunate to place our mother in this facility. They have an extraordinary staff, delicious meals, high standards of care and create a culture of caring. To give up her home and be content speaks volumes for the staff and living environment. The social, medical, spiritual, and supportive care she received gave our family peace of mind. Each resident receives individual care to live as fully and comfortably as they can. The Leader Family and staff were transparent during the Covid crisis; being open & candid with family members on a daily basis with emails &/or calls and did their best to allow ‘visitation’ in whatever way possible to keep and maintain health safety to their residents/staff while making sure families could keep in touch with their loved ones. As our mother’s health began to decline, the services of their inhouse Lifesong team was crucial. The staff allowed our mom to maintain a dignified, pain-free and peaceful transition into their hospice care.

Aside from covid it was a great experience. My friend had been here almost 2 years and he loved every minute of it. Going in here the staff were friendly, the residents were friendly and it was a very welcoming community. I think the fact they are located directly across from the medical center is awesome. If I couldn't take him to doctors appointments or things like that, they could provide transportation for him within the community. I would recommend Country Meadows as I knew it before covid.

I was recently there for recuperating procedures.. The staff, the physical therapy, the dining room and the quality of the food was wonderful. They were always willing to answer all your questions in a friendly manner and provide you with whatever you requested. I cannot praise the whole staff from administrators to housekeeping all the aides were always willing to accommodate your wishes when possible.I would never hesitate to recommend Country Meadows of Hershey to everyone I meet needing this type of home.

We had a mixed experience with this community. The facility itself was well kept and clean, and they did a good job with the routine care tasks. However, they were not very accommodating when it came to any special requests regarding my loved ones care. I tried to give them suggestions on how best to work with her and get her cooperation, and for the most part they ignored my suggestions. We eventually ended up having to find a community that suited her care needs better.

This was almost the facility we selected for my mother. It was a nice looking place, and the staff were very genuine and friendly. After talking with the caregivers I liked what they had to say about how they would care for some of Mom's specific issues. I think they would have had no problems really getting to know her and putting thought into her care.
