My mom was here for rehab. They were all very friendly and I was allowed in her room because they had all had their shots already. It was a good experience and I would recommend as long as you can afford it.

Not a place I would send my parents. After visiting friends on 3rd and 1st floors, I observed uncaring, put upon CNAs, more interested in breaks and phones than their clients. There were a couple of notable exceptions. My friends said they always were glad when they were on duty. Nice setting, but just a facade. I will continue to visit, but will never advise anyone to come here.

Response from Victorian Village
November 8, 2019Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about our community. While we’re glad your friends here appreciate some of our staff, we are concerned about the behavior you observed by other staff. We appreciate you bringing it to our attention, as it is not a reflection of the care we strive to provide. We would like to talk to you to get more details about what you have seen so that we can address the issues directly and will also be on the lookout for the behavior observed. Please contact our Executive Director Frank Guajardo at your earliest convenience at [removed] or [removed].
My mom [name removed] was in rehab at Victorian Village in 2017. We picked this facility because we knew there therapy rehab was great, it looked nice, and it was close to my house so I could check in on my mom often. The care in the afternoon and evening at this facility was horrible! My mom would put her call light on because she needed help and the CNA would finally come to her room after 30-45 minutes and complain how tired they were and basically let you know not to bother them. If you try to say something they would take it out on your loved one. They only have one NURSE on each floor, so when a Nurse decides to go outside for her 20-30 minute cigarette break, then theres only your lazy 2 or 3 CNA'S that don't want to answer your call light there to take care of you! It was so sad, my mom was so scared it broke my heart. I will never let one of my loved go to this facility ever again!

I have friends with parents here. I have heard really good things about it. It's even a Medicare facility, and they offer both assisted living as well as Medicare. My friends are really happy with it, and it may be something we consider in the future as well.

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

My wife used to work here, I want people to know it's not what it's cracked up to be. She's told me a lot of horror stories, she said she'd never allow her family to live here and we both go and visit former residents she used to take care of here. They moved out by choice. Take it from someone who knows what's going on behind the scenes.

A Place for Mom has scored Victorian Village 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
