My mom did very well at The Landing. She liked it, and so did I. The people there were nice and took good care of her. Unfortunately, she had several medical issues pile up on her in August 2023, and ended up passing away in Hospice. If [name removed] is still there as the concierge, she is fabulous! The nursing staff is also wonderful. Because it's relatively small, the staff members get to know the residents quickly and look out for them and their needs. They have nice daily activity programming for a range of interests. They had a good partnership with Buckeye Health when Mom was there - really helped with post-acute rehab. The rooms are a nice size - plenty of room for bed, dresser, seating - generous closet space too.... Read more

The grounds are clean enough and there are some fun activities but if your loved is not independent then this is not the place for them. If assistance is needed it is not uncommon to have to wait for an hour or more for the aids to come and help. They will assist with 2 showers a week. If the resident asks for one on another day, they will be told it is not their day, even if they have incontitent issues. I was requested to be the contact person by my loved one. However, when I contacted them with a care problem, neither the Executive director or head nurse would acknowledge my emails, text or phone calls. The cost is fine but you loved one will not receive the level of care they are paying for.

I felt the facility and grounds were very nice and well maintained. The memory care fenced yard where some of the residents planted things was enjoyed by my mother and me. Most of the staff were very caring and had a tough job because They were understaffed at times. Aides named [name removed] and [name removed] a were angels. I felt like the medical staff seemed overwhelmed at times and patient's meds were nor always given correctly. I know a facility like yours is not the same as being home but for many it is the safest place to be. I visited everyday whole my mom was there and their are many dedicated people who have good hearts caring for the patients.

I picked this community because they were one of the few places near me that would accept my dad even though he is a 2 person transfer. I will say that the employees are nice to my dad.

Some staff are great, but they are short staffed with much change over. The place is smaller and friendly. I visit every day to make sure my mom is getting the help she needs. It is not home, but it is relatively safe.

My husband who has young onset of Alzheimer's was in their memory care unit for 5 days. During those 5 days I gave my husband every single shower and we even were asked to spend the night with him one night. After 5 days they sent him to the hospital for behavioral issues. After 30 days in the hospital they would not take him back as a resident. They said they would give me a refund of the first month minus the 5 days. They said they could not return the $[removed] community fee because I had used a placement service and they had paid them a finders fee. I spoke to the placement service and they were never paid by the Landing of Long Cove. Almost 2 month later I am still waiting for my $[removed]+ They will not return calls.

Response from The Landing of Long Cove
November 22, 2022Good afternoon, We would love to discuss this further with you. As a deficiency free community, we take quality and safety very seriously. Due to privacy regulations we are unable to correspond with you through social media however, we would welcome you to please call us at 513-229-3155 so that we may review this with you further.
We're happy with this community, they're really sweet here. It's a small facility and everyone knows mom by name. They kind of look out for her. Housekeeping is frequent, laundry weekly, trash daily and they all do a good job. When they're finished cleaning it looks immaculate. The staff is really nice. The director and concierge at the front desk are both wonderful and helpful. They really are proactive here and try to stay on top of things. I feel like mom is safe and well looked after. Mom enjoys playing the piano and they have one in the common area, but didn't have a bench for it. She mentioned it to one of the staff, they actually ordered one so she could play! She loves to sit and play and they all enjoy it! Communication with the family is pretty good. She doesn't always like the food, but overall it's pretty good too. I would recommend them to friends and family.

This facility is great! I have zero complaints. Mom is completely taken care of and very happy here. I absolutely have no concerns when it comes to her care at this facility. They seem to have activities every hour and the atmosphere is great. I have recommended them to family and friends and will continue to do so!

This is a newer and nice community, and was good. It felt quiet as there was not a lot of residents or activities.
My only wish is I wished we would had chosen The Landing first. The best team and folks to work with. Communication - the care. Don't be foolish and choose because of chandeliers. 5 star all the way.
The girl we met with at The Landing of Long Cove was great. I got the feeling that hey cared a lot for their residents. A lot of people who were there had been there a long time, so based on that, the care must be good. I think the most important thing about the facility is that it's small, so everybody knows everybody, and the staff definitely knew the residents. The facility maybe just needed a bit of updating.
upon first impression, I thought that the residents appeared further down their assisted living path. during my tour I initially didn't think that The Landing would be a good fit, but I was wrong. although my loved one has only been here for a short while, we're confident that my moms needs are being met. she was previously at another community and there is a huge difference between that staff and the staff here. we think that they're doing an amazing job. if you or your loved one has advanced (care) needs, this might be a good place. if you're younger and more independent, I would suggest looking elsewhere. the value for the cost is here, they all act as a team. if you have a parent with significant needs, this is the place where those needs will be met.
Although our circumstances changed due to a death-we felt very at home at The Landing. Everyone was so welcoming and west out of their way to help us. If in the future we need assisted living Landing of Long Cove will be our first choice.
Excellent
It is a great place for your loved one. My loved one was treated well during their stay. The director and staff have all been friendly and helpful to work with. The food was pretty good for my loved one.

April 19, 2021Thank you so much, Mark, for taking the time to leave us a positive review! We're glad to hear your kind words about our care options and flexibility.
The community had a great plan for covid and kept the residence safe. I felt like it was the best community I could have chosen. The community was good at communicating and kept us updated and informed. I absolutely would recommend this community to others. The community was well kept, very clean, and did not smell.

Response from The Landing of Long Cove
March 19, 2021Thank you for the amazing review, Alice! We truly appreciate you taking the time to tell us about your experience in our community during this pandemic. Since the start of COVID-19, our team has prioritized the safety and health of our residents and team members by following the latest regulations. It has been a challenging experience, but we look forward to a brighter future ahead.
Our loved one is happy with the meals they serve, they are not restaurant quality so that could use some improvements as far as the atheistic's. We think during covid they have done a very good job, they have been conservative where they needed to be, and they should be given high marks for their approach.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
