We have been very happy with Harbor Chase. Mom had a stroke about 3 weeks ago and has been in the hospital and Rehab since, but she is looking forward to going back soon. Everyone there has been very loving and kind. They are very good about calling me if my mother needs anything or just to let me know how she is doing.

I chose this community because it's 10 minutes from my house, it's very modern and extremely clean( the facility is only six years old). Incredible and knowledgeable staff. I can call 24 hours a day if needed. Delicious and nutritious meals. Fabulous floor director and and activities director. Excellent floor staff and wonderful, lovely residents.

My Grandfather lived here, and I was at peace knowing that the management team and line associates were there to meet his needs. Friendly faces and many staff have been there a long time. The Negust's team always made us feel special with the food and needs as my grandfather's taste buds changed. The communication from [name removed] is great, and sends out updates on what is going on in the community.

Upon arrival, my mom's meds were not logged correctly, and she didn't have her insulin right for several days. Upon departure to nursing home (she was only at Harbor Chase ~6 weeks), the nursing home owner found many errors on her med records (changes/notes were on a nurses phone/not logged, etc.). The director did not return important emails concerning mom's care in a timely matter, we had to drop in on her in person after multiple email attempts. With the care services, they did their best, but her needed level of care was high. The meals are hard to rate as mom rarely ate and said she didn't like the food. She did like when they brought her cold things like milk, ice cream, smoothies. Activities are also hard to rate as she did not participate in any

I would tell others that so much depends on whether they have had prior experience with a facility or not. I had my parents in other facilities, and you really have to keep on top of things and not assume anything. Harbor Chase of Plano is better than some and no worse than some. But it is very pricey and gives appearance of being like a higher end hotel.

They are very responsive, listened to my concerns and opinions. Everyone I've dealt with there has been genuinely nice and cares about not only what's best for my mom, but also what helps me out as well. I highly recommend this place and recently had an acquaintance move her mother in law here from another facility - she didn't ever leave her room at the previous one, and is now thriving at HarborChase

We toured with HarborChase of Plano and it was a very nice place. The facility is very large and we just thought my mom would have a hard time getting around since she was in a wheelchair, especially to the dining room. They did have plenty of great amenities. The one that stuck out most to us was the physical therapy on site that they offered.
The staff is amazing! The nurse and memory care director have been there for several years and exude compassion. Great leadership here, all staff are engaging! Resort-like too!!
This community did not have the level of care that my loved one needed.
I liked this community but the other community that we were looking at was better and we just had to go with it.
Our family had a virtual tour and it was a nice tour
Our family had an in person tour and it did not really stand out enough to remember everything we saw, but we do remember that it just did not give us the feeling that this was the place for our loved one.
It's a good community and my loved one is well taken care of. The director is very caring but the admin is too far removed from the care side. communication is good with the caregivers but with administration, it is very week. I would recommend this community to others as long as you are aware of the shortcomings

A Place for Mom has scored HarborChase of Plano 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
