August 16, 2024Thank you for the wonderful things you said about Sunrise of Plano and the dedicated care givers and team members. Our residents are part of the Sunrise family and we take enormous pride in having the privilege to take care of them. - The Sunrise Team
Sunrise is a lovely place and has been amazing for me. They are constantly cleaning. The activities offered are nice. The food is excellent. Since moving from my previous facility, I have only had one seizure. This is by far the best experience I have had.

Sunrise is a wonderful facility and the way they went through the process with me made it easy. They genuinely seem to care about their residents. The fact that they were able to accommodate us with an apartment in about a week was huge.

I would not recommend moving to Sunrise for Memory Care. There staff are not properly trained to work with residents who have Alzheimer's/dementia. They also do not clean the rooms regularly and my parent's lived in filthy deplorable conditions. I would advise those looking for Memory Care to find a place where they solely focus on memory care. Also management is unresponsive to requests or questions. They also raise rates without prior notification or an explanation of why.

February 13, 2024Hi Richard, We take your experience at Sunrise of Plano very seriously and would like to review this matter closer. Please contact info@sunriseseniorliving.com so we can promptly review and address these concerns. – The Sunrise Team
Housekeeping seems diligent, both checking in on the residents several times/day as well as cleaning the apartment and laundry 1x/week. Communication with the family has been proactive and via multiple channels (email, text, phone call). Example: announcements about flu/COVID patients and revised visitor protocols wrt masks, etc. A shortage of carpet led to a delay when moving in, but that was beyond control of the facility. They could have communicated that better, but they adjusted the move-in date for billing. The meals seem well-balanced and appropriately sized for residents. My dad is a basic meat and potatoes kind of guy (nothing fancy), and the menu seems to match what the residents prefer. Seems like a well-run facility. Definitely the best that we toured and 3-months later, I feel very comfortable with our decision. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others.

The staff is great. My Mom speaks very highly of the housekeeping staff, the dining room staff, and especially the concierge. The move in process was performed by my family and an outside company. The apartment was in good shape for the move-in process. My Mom is a picky eater. She will not eat everything, but likes what she chooses to eat. I would definitely recommend Sunrise of Plano.

December 1, 2023Hi Carole, Thank you for the wonderful things you said about Sunrise of Plano and the dedicated care givers and team members. Our residents are part of the Sunrise family and we take enormous pride in having the privilege to take care of them.
Our family honestly couldn't be happier with the care our loved one has been receiving. Even the dining staff remembers names, preferences and favorite treats. My mother in law has said that she feels very grateful for where she is.

I absolutely LOVE Sunrise of Plano, which offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care Support all under one roof so seniors, especially couples can age together in place regardless of their needs. The community is very well maintained, traditional in its style and incredibly warm and welcoming. The residents and staff are all so happy and friendly. It is also incredible to discover that many staff from housekeeping, dining room service staff and care givers have all been with the community since it opened nearly 20 years ago. The chef has also been with the community since it opened and makes the most delicious soups from scratch. I look forward to becoming a resident of the community soon.

August 21, 2023Thank you so much for your kind words, Peggy! We are thrilled to hear that you love Sunrise of Plano and appreciate our diverse levels of care offered. If you have questions or interested in scheduling a tour please contact Sunrise of Plano. Thank you!
I've lived in a few communities and looked at most in the area , they've got it right here. One thing that I found living in an assisted living community previously, medication isn't necessarily dosed by what's prescribed but by the nurse's schedule. If you're working with a customer that's on the fence of assisted vs independent that's something to let them know. They have a nice gym. Another big plus is the washer and dryer are in the apartment. Many of the communities have the washer and dryer in a community room. We looked at several independent communities before I moved here. The community is diverse in age. I'm 55. For the assisted living I was close to the youngest. Here I'm in the middle.

June 28, 2023Hi Lisa, Thank you for the wonderful things you said about Sunrise of Plano and the dedicated care givers and team members. Our residents are part of the Sunrise family and we are so glad to hear that you're settling in just right. - The Sunrise Team
Our family had an in person tour with Sunrise of Plano and we thought the experience and the community was very nice, but the reason we did not pick it was because the apartment and room was just not as big as we wanted it to be.
I toured this facility briefly and it is beautiful. The guy that assisted us here was very nice. I prefer a smaller facility that is only Memory Care and this facility is large and has more than just Memory Care.

March 1, 2023It is wonderful to know that you had such a positive experience when touring Sunrise of Plano!
I toured this community. They were under renovation during our tour, but it's a nice facility. I loved the house dog! They didn't have any Assisted Living openings when I toured.

Sunrise has been a great experience. There was an adjustment period for our mom as would be expected for any major life change at any new residence, but overall it has been very positive.

Our team members share a common goal of enriching every resident’s life by carefully listening to their needs and always delivering the very best. Thank you! – The Sunrise Team
I toured this facility and it was very nice! They did only offer 2 meals a day, instead of 3 and we preferred 3 a day. They also didn't offer the call/help button necklace, which was very important to us. I'd still recommend them as an option to others!

Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice community, it was clean even with it being older and the meals were amazing. All of the staff were very nice, but the lady we met with did not know anything about the care our loved one would need so we just felt at that moment this wasn't the place for her.

We had originally toured this community a few years ago for more independent living and this time we toured it for assisted living and had a completely different experience. It was just really bad - the sales marketing director was very inappropriate in so many ways that had actually resulted in our loved one going through an episode because of her dementia. We appreciate the sales marketing director engaging with our loved one but they kept asking our mother - why she would ever want to leave her beautiful town and come here." We were confused since it was already a tough process trying to explain to our loved one why she did have to leave home. The sales director also let us see an empty apartment but told our loved one it was empty due to a resident just passing away. So we just felt the entire tour was just bad and not helpful

June 13, 2022Hi Customer, Your feedback is important to us, and it is unfortunate that you did not have a positive experience at Sunrise of Plano. Please allow us an opportunity to closely review your concerns by contacting info@sunriseseniorliving.com. Thank you! – The Sunrise Team
When my Mother and Father went to Sunrise in 2015 they received excellent care. During the past few years the management has changed and they no longer care about their patients. Both my parents suffered from broken bones from falls. My Father passed away shortly after his episode. My Mother is struggling and we are forced to hire private sitters if we want her to receive any care whatsoever. They don’t care about your loved one, they care about profit.

A Place for Mom has scored Sunrise of Plano 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
