Signature Pointe

Thank you [name removed], for sharing this facility with me. I have visited a couple of places, with a friend. The information and photos provided here sets the bar higher for other facilities. I have a few friends that I will share this site with. I'll be sure to let them know that you are employed there. Thank you again..

I have very mixed feelings about our family's dealings with Signature Pointe. [name removed] , who helped us get lined up for assisted living, was incredibly helpful. I felt like she really cared about our family. I would also say that the therapists were very good. Although we rented an assisted living apartment for a month, mom was never well enough to take possession of it. She remained in skilled nursing/rehab for her less than two month stay at SP, although she was there for about ten days in [date removed] also. Meals were fine, as was cleanliness. The friendliness of the staff varied greatly. Some of them were wonderful and others were awful. As most places are, they were short staffed and mother often was soiled or needed attention for a long time before they would answer the buzzer. Mom would go several days without even a sponge bath. One day I was visiting her and some people from the state were evaluating. After I told them this, things got better for a while. They said this was not in accordance with the rules and state law. A few weeks later, we had been out of town for our son's wedding, and a few minutes after we returned to Dallas I got a call from a nurse that mother had contracted COVID. She only lived for six more days. Of course, they moved her to the COVID ward, but the phones did not work and I could hardly get through to her. Finally I begged nurse [name removed] to see mom, and she allowed me to. I appreciated that. The day before mom lost responsiveness a nurse held the phone for mom to talk to us, and she sounded terrible. I called and called, and finally got through to one of the head nurses. I told her exactly what room mom was in, the last room on the left (I gave her the correct room number) of the COVID ward. The nurse came back and said mom had eaten a good breakfast. I knew this could not be true because mom had not been able to eat much at all the past several months. We got a call late the next evening that mother was unresponsive and they were sending her to the hospital. We immediately went to be with her. After she passed away that weekend, my husband and I went right to SP to pick up her belongings. They had misplaced all of her clothes and gave me someone else's. I noticed this on the way to the car, so I took them back in and donated them. It was really hard to get through to staff, and I felt they were not upfront with me about mother's condition. That is a painful memory. We went with SP because it is a nice facility, and it's hard to find retirement facilities that offer independent, assisted living, rehab, and skilled nursing.

Needed to find my 93 year old dad a place with 3 meals, 24/7 on site staff and a close distance from our house . Signature Pointe has exceeded our expectations in the care he receives, the fellowship he is having, and the wonderful meals he is now being provided. While they do have a car service to get residents where they need to be during the day, I do wish they had a bus and more outside the facility activities. But my dad is extremely content, and I do believe that moving him there has increased his quality of life. And for that, I am very thankful!

My mom needed Assisted Living so I looked for these things: her safety, good care, and an environment where she can be happy. Due to a fall mom needed Rehab care first and Signature Pointe is the only place I've seen that provides all levels of care. We spent a month in their Rehab and I got to see firsthand the level of medical care and custodial care that they provide and was very impressed. When released from Rehab we simply moved downstairs to Signature Pointe Assisted Living which was much less traumatic than changing places. The level of care is excellent and the food is pretty good. The staff is very friendly and helpful and it's clear they truly care about what they do. They treat their residents with respect. Mom is kinda picky but she is very happy with Signature Pointe and everyone on the staff. She's meeting other residents that say the same. The old saying is true: Mom's happy so I'm happy! They did a great job, when we were looking, to make us feel welcome. The move in process was extremely easy. My mother's movers were able to get everything in easily in a couple of hours. The staff is all lovely. She is very pleased with housekeeping. Since she is in independent living, we do not have too much communication with them but when we have needed to in has been fine. The only improvements I could think of is maybe some more fun outings (they do not have a bus at this time, so outings are limited.) and possibly more/better exercise equipment and room (but would they really use that?!). It is taking my mother some time getting used to the facility and making friends as expected, but overall the experience has been very, very good.

New director of AL is helpful and nice. Maybe she can make an impact. However the facility doesn't have a caring culture, no staff and resident relationship development. Too big a facility and help and care is spread thin.

Visited 5 assisted living and memory care places and ended up choosing Signature Pointe for my mother. Signature Pointe is an all-in-one facility with rehabilitation and skilled nursing. I ended up choosing it not only for its location but for its staff and comfortable setting, i.e. dining area, courtyard, plenty of lighting, etc. The 1BR apartment had plenty of room for her furniture. Honestly, the apartments are a bit dated, but that's not what I cared about most. The staff for assisted living are all very welcoming, engaging and willing to work out the best path for senior adults to be in happier place. Talking with some of the residents, they seemed to be very happy at Signature Pointe. After initially moving my mother in, [name removed], the sales rep, went out of her way to help my mother transition from rehab at another facility to the assisted living floor. She sold me on how much they try to engage with the residents and provide the care they need. [name removed], the Director of Nursing, is very transparent, communicative and willing to discuss the best care plan needed for my mother whose both mental and physical health were unfortunately declining fast. It's only been less than a month, but I would certainly refer Signature Pointe to others as an option.

The location was very important to us. It's located very close to where she's been living for the past 20+ years, so a familiar 'neighborhood'. It's also close to my brother's office, so he can check on her easily. The price special they ran was what enabled us to be able to make the decision though. We felt the value for the money was very good. We liked the overall feel of this community already and when they lowered the monthly price, we wanted to act right away.

Mom is very happy at Signature Pointe community and is enjoying the meals that are prepared as well as the different activities. The different activities they have going on for the residents is Canasta, Bridge, Book Club, Bible Study, Beading, Movies, and Happy Hours. Our loved one is kept very busy

Signature Pointe has great staff but there has been some turnover which I hear is common. My Mom has had some health issues so she really hasn't ventured out yet. She likes the food for the most part and they have been accommodating to her health and delivered the food to her room which has been very generous. She is improving and should be able to experience it all soon.

What we like about Signature Pointe community is the location. Areas we think they could make improvements - they could have a new resident initiation, better communication and resident advocate.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Grandmother is happy with the fun and games provided by the staff. The facility is kept clean and sanitary. Of all of the assisted living facilities in the area, this one is the best.

My mom was in the skilled nursing for almost 2 months after a stroke. All of the staff was so great to my mom and our family. we then transitioned to their assisted living and have loved it ever since!

Our experience at Signature Pointe has been amazing. The care there has been top notch. I have and will continue to recommend Signature Pointe to friends and family. It’s comforting knowing our mom is in the hands of people we know care so much.

I am looking for a place on behalf of my 89 year old father and found Signature Pointe. [name removed]was absolutely crucial in our decision to pursue an apartment there. The amenities and sense of safety for my father are key ingredients in my feelings that this is the right place for him to be.

We picked this community, because it was recommended by A Place for Mom. Two of the biggest concerns, was lack of communication, and miscommunication amongst the staff. They were very nice, the staff was friendly, and they offered good physical therapy.

We have had an amazing experience with Signature Pointe and their employees. [name removed] has been thoughtful, compassionate and accommodating throughout the process as we transition my mom into independent living. She has gone above and beyond at a very difficult time. We are grateful and so excited for our mom to have community and friends. Thank you!

The food is good and you don’t have to clean the dishes! The staff does it all. Looking forward to Taco Tuesday!

Top Notch Dining experience! Highly recommend Signature Pointe for anyone’s loved one. I had the opportunity to try the food in the Independent Living and was very impressed. We had a server come to our table and introduce themselves as if we were at a restaurant and helped go over the menu options. We started with HOT tomato basil soup, which was SO GOOD! Then our server came back to clear our dirty plates and brought the main course, my favorite, lasagna. I personally enjoy a lot of cheese on my lasagna, so our server went back to the kitchen and put a heaping scoop of fresh mozzarella cheese in a bowl for me. WOW! Talk about going the extra mile. I do not remember our server’s name, but she was the definition of southern hospitality. My tea glass was never below half, and she was always close enough when I needed something. I probably should have stopped at the main course, but I decided to try the dessert. CHOCOLATE CAKE! I am so glad I did.
