This facility is in an older part of the city. The building was constructed in the early 60's. The place does appear home-like which may be to the preference of some. The lavatories are shared in most rooms and the shower is communal (nursing home style). The alarm system needs updating. Not the right place for us.

Response from Barton Hills Assisted Living
April 14, 2016Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review! We appreciate the feedback and will address the concerns to the best of our abilities. It is our mission to make our family happy with their home.
Barton Hills Assisted Living is warm & welcoming, clean and well laid out. Owner is very helpful & works with the family to make the placement as seamless as possible. I am very impressed with the size & layout of the private rooms and the fact that they are quiet. Nothing feels institutional here. Has a darling white fluffy dog, who is friendly with the residents, and there is another cute dog that is the designated therapy dog. Unfortunately for my mother, state law deems it necessary to be able to bear your own weight (in order to evacuate in case of a fire), and my mother did not meet the criteria.
