Brookdale Gaines Ranch

It is very nice. It is comparable to living in a 5 ?? hotel. The staff is friendly except for the people who are at the front desk. My loved one picked this place because it is nice, always clean, food is good and very affordable for what you get. I like it for the location.

I have lived at Brookdale Gaines Ranch for 2 years and have been very happy here! Both the staff and residents are so friendly and are all happy with great attitudes! Staff go out of their way to help with anything you may need! Every department head are accommodating and just love to please the residents! I love living here at Gaines Ranch! I give it a 10!!

The best thing about this place is the staffers. They're friendly and quick to help. I never get the impression someone feels burdened or imposed on when I ask them to do something. There are myriad activities—games, live music, interesting talks on lots of subjects, outings to fun places, holiday celebrations, religious services and things residents cook up for themselves. I heard someone say, "This is like a cruise ship on land." Management communicates well with people, and the top manager is available and attentive. Perhaps the best recommendation I can make is this: After visiting me and hearing me talk about my life here for a while, my sister-in-law moved here herself.

From the beginning, Gaines Ranch a d the staff made us and particularly our mother feel very welcome. It is a great environment for the residents where they are looked after and cared for, even as independents. The staff is excellent, and in particular [name removed] who helped us with every detail. Although our Mom was there for just four months before she passed. She adjusted well in her new home and made friends quickly. We would wholeheartedly recommend Gaines Ranch as an excellently managed and maintained facility.

I walked into Gaines Ranch for the first time and immediately noticed all the residents in the lobby - smiling, laughing, conversing and I smiled. The Marketing person I met first was open, friendly, and never made me feel overwhelmed with a strong "sales pitch." I immediately felt at home and I never even visited another community. I have now lived here one year and I have never regretted my decision to make Gaines Ranch my home one minute. The staff is so warm and goes out of their way to make my life happy and useful. The activities are everything I hoped for. I have the fun I expected and ways to continue to contribute that I thought I would probably never enjoy again. The friendships I've made are precious. Am I happy here? Absolutely.

I moved my dad from Tennessee to Texas with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this place came highly recommended from two of my friends, whose grandparents lived out the last of their years here. The staff has been absolutely amazing and my dad is so happy here. He only has a one bedroom apartment, but it’s plenty of room for him. He absolutely loves the food and loves all of the on-site amenities. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and this fabulist. I highly recommend it for anyone who is able to afford private care.

Hold on to your wallet! The cost of incidental services mounts very quickly combined with outrageous rent increases which act like a vacuum on the residents bank accounts. Also, be VERY careful about future "assisted living" needs .... they say if the resident cannot ambulate the stairs, they do not qualify - I bet there's very few residents who can use the stairs here and probably none on the assisted living floor!

We chose Brookdale Gaines Ranch because I thought the quality of the services including the food and the apartment that he is in was very good for the price. The people were very responsive to answering questions and keeping in touch as we were getting set up to move in and even after. They have been great about communication. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Gaines Ranch.

Since our loved one has moved in she has absolutely done a complete 360. She has absolutely blossomed - she is getting out of her room every single day and socializing and talking with all the other residents. She has met some very nice ladies there. We are delighted with this community. She also says the food is delightful. Based on the experience so far we would recommend Brookdale Gaines Ranch to other families.

It's very conveniently located to most things in Austin. My family member has been very happy and has adjusted quickly. She's getting good care. She doesn't need a lot of care at this point, but what she does need has been good. She loves the food and says the dining experience is like she's on a cruise ship - with white table cloths, waiters/waitresses, a menu where she can choose what she wants. And if she wants something that's not on the menu, they'll try to accommodate her.

Brookdale has been wonderful to and for my dad! It's not institutional at all and the staff has been wonderful to my dad. They are quick to respond to his every need.

We picked this community because, of what they offered in care options: independent living, assisted living and memory care unit. And it was reasonably priced .I feel like the meals needs to improve. I have eaten there and other places and I wouldn't like eating that stuff. Plus, for them, the move-in process was not great. To use the service elevator you had to come from the back where they have the trash and it smelled terrible.

I think their process of putting down a deposit and a community fee and first months rent, is all very confusing. I think people need to ask a lot of questions and get clarification. In general, once my dad moved in, his experience with the staff has been so overwhelmingly positive. Once we put down our deposit and made the decision to go there, the sales people hand you over to the next people you work with long-term, and they are great. The staff at Brookdale, my dad really can't say enough good things about. They offer a ton of activities, and it's taken him a little while because his most important thing was getting doctor appointments made and his bank account set up. He really likes that there is a Catholic communion once a week, and he started using the indoor pool for water aerobics. They have happy hour every Wednesday and he'll go to part of that. He hasn't gotten involved in things like game nights, and more social friendly gatherings. He hasn't quite done that, but I think he's getting there. My dad is in a large one bedroom apartment, and it was completely renovated prior to him moving in. He went from a four bedroom house to a one bedroom apartment - but we've divided his bedroom into half his bedroom and half his office area with a desk and a computer. He has a really nice sized bathroom, fully equipped with guard rails to make sure he's safe. He has tons of storage space, and a nice outside patio. It has a fully functioning kitchen that he hasn't really had to use because he loves the food. He was kind of withering away and his weight was a big concern, but he's put on about 7lbs since he's been there and that's a really big thing. I would recommend Brookdale to others. I visited 11 places before making the decision; far and away, Brookdale was the best facility for the money and I think the care services are great. The medical care he receives onsite are great; he sees a physician's assistant and she will come to his apartment for appointments. If he needs any lab work they will come to his apartment to draw blood and so forth. He's starting to take the shuttle to attend his urologists and cardio appointments. They helped him find new doctors, where he can take the shuttle. The driver will take him and pick him back up - they facilitate that. My dad came from a small town in New Mexico where health care was not good, so that is a really huge aspect. I would recommend Brookdale Gaines Ranch to anybody. Brookdale has given me and my sisters such a since of relief because we were constantly worried about dad living alone in a four bedroom house, and it's the best place for my dad!

I can't express enough gratitude for the work[name removed] and his team did for my Mom [name removed] while she has been at this facility from [date removed]. If you are going through the process of taking care of your beloved parent and transitioning them to an independent living or assisted living senior center, I highly recommend Brookdale Gaines Ranch. [name removed] hires a team who bring a passion for Seniors by making the time they have left during their last chapter, the best it can possibly be. There were so many times that I did not have an answer for what my Mom was going through and Brookdale Gaines Ranch always came through for my wife and I and my Mom. Thank you from our heart to [name removed] and BGR!

Brookdale has been a good experience. They are very knowledgeable and I feel like they do a lot for the residents there. They are very personable as well. My loved one likes the meals and the dining room. She has a spacious 1 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. They offer transportation to appointments and stores and they allow pets. Overall, I would recommend them to others.

We love the Brookdale Gaines community, everything is going very well so far. We like the activity of the residents themselves. It is a very active environment and it is very encouraging to see them living their lives. We would 100% recommend this community to others.

The community is very clean and the staff have done such a good job with the covid protocols and the masks mandates. The staff members are so friendly that was one main reason I picked Brookdale. They go out of their way to engaged the residents, and get them into groups of people they think the residents will get along with best. We have a brand new chef who is doing a great job so far, we get 3 entrees to choose from, 4 vegetables and 3 desserts .The value for cost is very reasonable it is like staying in an all inclusive resort. Also the second level is assisted living so if the assisted living residents can and want to come down to senior living area they are more then welcomed to, they can do activities with us and eat with us, or if they don't want to or can't they have their own activity and dining area.

Loved the community and plan on signing a lease, if everything works out! I feel this is the right place for us! Definitely a 4 Star rating from us!!
