We moved Mom in on [date removed]. She recently turned 88 and was really struggling with anxiety and depression, constant health issues and generally wanted to die. From move-in day through today Mom has been in a steady U-turn. She is engaged. She dances everyday and enjoys fitness class and a wealth of age appropriate activities - this is especially exceptional as Mom is mostly blind. Yesterday, with great pride, she told me they had family night - because they were all family. She had a small stomach bug this week (her first illness since being there) and they cared for her like a mother cares for her child. The love, personal investment and community system Affectionate Care has built is amazing, inspiring and at least for us - nothing short of a Godsend. Thank you all for caring for Mom as if she were your own mother!
All areas are 5. My mother chose not to participate in activities, but a variety was offered. I am grateful to Clayton for helping make my mother's final six months as safe, comfortable, and pleasant as possible. I would highly recommend Clayton Oaks to potential residents and their family members. My mother received compassionate care there during the last six months of her life. She loved the aides, physical therapists, and her dining room friends.
So far it has been a great place for my mom. The facility is very clean and she has her own private room. If she does not want to go down to eat the staff will bring her meals to the room. They have plenty of activities provided like exercise classes, dominoes, arts and crafts, etc. They are currently trying to put in snack machines in the facility as well for the residents. The hardest part is the medical side of it and not knowing what they are charging for. It would be helpful if we got an itemized bill showing what exactly the charges are for. There does seem to be an increase in new people moving in so that is good. I have eaten the food and it seems to be pretty good and the residents seem to enjoy it as well. We feel the value for the money is great here for what they provide. All of the staff members are really friendly welcoming. She has more freedom here and we are able to take her out and do things. I would definitely recommend them to others looking, we have really enjoyed the experience so far.
