Highly recommend

Very nice people, the owner worked with us financially to make it happen! As far as the activities go - maybe they could take the patient for a walk outside in the wheelchair. I would recommend OSA Heritage Homes to others looking.

Look elsewhere. Please don't trust this facility to care for your loved one.

I couldn't recommend Extended Senior Care Service to anyone. My loved one is no longer at this facility. I know that serval families have reported them to the State of Texas and they have been under investigation.

Wonderful Facility

We trust the owner and staff to a good job with an occasionally irascible resident. They have displayed much patience. The staff have somewhat heavy accent which has probably been challenging for my brother, but he was already used to that from dealing with our late sister's caregivers. They're very competent and caring. The owner is considerate and helpful. I would recommend Osa (in fact, my wife and I agreed we would choose them for ourselves).

Would Not Recommend

Wonderful place to start - memory care is tough and resident can't tell you what is going on. Things started to disappear yet this is a locked and closed facility. Worst part is after her passing was told they would box up her belongings and yet when I to pick up things - all were in trash bags in the garage loose - wasn't allowed to question staff and the manager wasn't there. You don't leave with what you went in with.

Terrible!

Everything [name removed] told me about this place was a lie. He told me they cooked every day. They microwave fish sticks and fries. I was told they provide 24 hr care. They shutdown at 5 pm daily. They don't know how to administer medicines. My sister had a new bottle of seizure medicine, it was used in 2 weeks. It was supposed to last 30 days. She was there for about 3 weeks with a bandage on her right foot with a diabetic sore. I had to request a wound care nurse come a change it. I transferred my sister to [name removed] and a week later she's back in the hospital with an infection in her foot. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

Controlling management and understaffed

Management demands notification before visiting your loved one. They had only one staff member taking care of three very sick patients for more than three weeks straight without one day off. That poor soul was stuck with three residents 24 hrs/7 with no break. The new facility is not licensed so no oversight from the county. Found mom dirty multiple times. they were feeding her potato chips and she has heart failure. Too many issues to list. Stay away.

My Answer for the activities is a 2 because there are no actives for the resident because the majority of them require extended health care and not very interested in activities that's understandable. We would recommend OSA Heritage Homes to other families.

a nice community but would not recommend

It is a very good value, but there are things that happened there that would be concerning when considering this place for your loved one. One of the things that just did not feel right is that they do not encourage families to come and visit without an appointment. They also started to tell the hospice nurses that they did not want the hospice bath aids to come in. They would put our loved one in double briefs so they did not have to take our loved one to the bathroom as often. Their items were disappearing. When our loved one fell and went to the hospital they did not send any of their belongings or medication's with as they said they would.

Heaven on Earth

We have seen a huge improvement since my loved one moved into the community. The staff encourage the residents to come to the dining table to socialize with other residents in the community. The staff are great to work with and keep the family updated on our loved one. I really like working with the staff. Heritage Homes has been able to accommodate the dietary restrictions for our loved one and this has been really nice.

A Great Place for Mom

The people here are very kind. The administrator is very responsive to questions or concerns and is quick to call me back. It's a top notch place. They'll make any food I bring for her and go out of their way to provide for her dietary needs/wants. And she is well cared for.

Never toured home. Went to door and woman who answered door told me to go to my car and call Joe at a certain phone number. When I called she answered and I asked for Joe. Seemed like she just handed phone to him like he was there. I couldn’t understand if he was telling me that he was at another location or if I was supposed to go to another location so I gave up. Thought if we couldn’t communicate at that point how could we communicate if something went wrong with my mother living there.

our experience so far

I like that this is in a home environment. I am able to get ahold of the community very easily and can talk to my mom whenever I would like to. We don't receive a lot of communication from them but when we ask they are good at answering our questions. They were able to communicate that the vaccinations were available and they community is vaccinated

You Can Ensure Your Loved One Will Be Taken Care of

I think it is a good place to have your family there. The people are friendly, and nice. I can trust they can take care of my loved one. They haven't had any cases of COVID. The manager communicates with family members to let them know what is going on. He set it up for family members to get vaccinated. I wish they would have more activities that pull the residents in to participate in. The best thing is the cleanness, staff attentiveness, enjoyable group of dedicated staff that are taking care of your family member.

Osa Heritage Homes Katy - “Outstanding!”

My mother is a resident at Osa Heritage Homes Katy. I am more than happy with all aspects of Osa. The home is immaculate, and the staff is knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly. They actually care about the residents and make every effort to get to really know them. Having my Mom there and knowing that I do not have to worry about her has given me my life back.

Very capable, caring staff

I am writing this on behalf of my mother, who stayed at Osa Heritage Homes , (the NEW one, not Brannon Branch) for seven months this last year. First off, I am giving it 3 stars, because it is highly rated in some areas, and not so much in others. My mother was the first client at this newly built, very pleasant house, so we did not know what to expect. The house itself is very nice, furnished appropriately, in a beautiful new neighborhood. Each client generally has their own room and bathroom, or shares a bathroom with another person. I had looked at A LOT of care homes in the area, and this one was by far the nicest! My mother does not have dementia, but is in a wheelchair with some other physical limitations. We thought the owners would be able to find some other clients who had needs like hers, but sadly, such was not the case. The clients that came in were clearly needing a lot more help than my mother, and it was very, very depressing for her to remain in that situation, where she was the only one that can carry on a real conversation. She “thought” she needed a lot more help than she actually did. (A senior apartment facility, with meals provided, with the option of in home care for bathing was what she actually needed.) This home is meant for seniors that TRULY need intensive daily care, have dementia, and are incontinent, but not bad enough for a nursing home. That said, I came to admire and appreciate the staff there. They are all extremely loving, and caring, and very quietly efficient at the daily tasks involved with such an enterprise, including, cleaning, cooking, bathing, feeding, changing diapers, etc. My mom really came to love them, and I know misses them. One thing that was very disheartening was that there were NO activities provided to alleviate boredom. In most homes of this nature, daily activities, no matter how seemingly silly, were provided to keep clients entertained for at least a short while. TV was the ONLY activity in this home. The food was ok in the beginning, and seemed to get progressively worse as time wore on, I guess to cater to people without teeth. It was however, acceptable because the meals always fell into the healthy range of things, it was not garbage they were being fed by any means. My mom was always super hot, because the house is kept VERY warm, but the other clients seemed to like it, because most of them don’t move much at all. It was also very dark and gloomy in my opinion, with shades drawn closed all the time, and no lights on, which I can’t stand. That was the owners preference, but I know a lot of envious proffer it dark like that as well. They also have an alarm system and secure backyard in case anyone should wander off. One great thing is that the owner himself takes the clients to their doctor appointments, and that is included in the monthly fee. He is also very efficient and capable with this task. He also makes daily visits to check that things are running smoothly, and a nurse comes in for weekly checkups for each client as well. Medication is picked up from the pharmacy and monitored, which is great. Overall, if you have a loved one who needs near constant care because of dementia / Alzheimer’s I would highly recommend this home. If you have a senior who needs help with just bathing, meals, and getting around, this is probably not the facility for them.
