Homestead Hills in Winston Salem, NC
5.0

I moved to Homestead Hills in July 2021 after many weeks of researching senior continuing care facilities in North Carolina. I am happy to be residing in a relatively stress-free environment and able to participate and enjoy the many daily activities available to residents. There are also a variety of off-campus activities to enhance the senior living experience. The Villa Apartments and Cottages are well appointed with high ceilings and large windows. I find it to be a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The staff is friendly and caring. I highly recommend Homestead Hills as a Senior Continuing Care Facility

Somerset Court of Mocksville
5.0

They really do an excellent job. They deal really well with both the residents and their families. They are very patient and understanding and go out of their way to help out in any way they can. I highly recommend Somerset Court of Mocksville to anyone else who needs a place for their elderly loved ones and I personally would not consider having my mom anywhere else.

Shuler Health Care Inc in Kernersville, NC

I would recommend it for any family member. They don't offer any activities. There is one option during meal times.

Clemmons, North Carolina

Nursing Homes

A nursing home provides lodging to at least two persons who have no family ties to the administrator. This type of establishment provides its inhabitants with care by registered nurses. These nurses provide health related services for seniors who are unable to adequately care for themselves due to their aging.

Nursing homes can be a convenient and comfy living option for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will usually take in persons 55 and greater (a rarity in the realm of senior care). Many residents of nursing homes may have behavioral troubles, which can consist of resisting assistance, verbal outbursts, or a tendency to wander. Many occupants tend to be single women with smaller social support groups, and almost half of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old. The most common mental disease experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can hinder their decision making capabilities, and their sense of familiarity, and memory function. Often times individuals may decide life in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a mental or physical impairment that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their lifestyle goals. Types of amenities and servicesoffered at nursing homes might include friendly visitor programs, social and recreational activities, help with shopping and transportation, and home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities).
