The Glenn Hopkins

They are friendly and helpful. I don't know about the food, even the basics seem like very poor execution. No flavor and overly salty, it even looks unappetizing. The activities never seem to change, just adding a little variety would be nice so that it appeals to a broader audience such as visits to museums or local libraries or historical places, etc.

Parkshore Senior Campus in Saint Louis Park, MN
4.9

Being out of state we do not get to visit that much, however when we do speak with our loved one she does seem to enjoy the meals and dining service. We do think the overall value for the money is good and based on our experience so far we would recommend the Parkshore Senior Campus to other families.

Meadow Woods - Martin Luther Campus in Bloomington, MN
5.0

I think they do a great job at Meadow Woods! The staff here is very friendly and easy to work with. They've been very accommodating in regards to some billing issues we've had in regards to getting funding with the VA straightened out. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and they do a great job looking after the people who live here!

Orono, Minnesota

Nursing Homes

A nursing home offers room and board to at least two persons who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. This type of establishment offers its occupants 24-hour care administered by on-site nurses. These nurses offer maintenance, personal care and other health related services for seniors who are unable to properly take care of their own needs due to their aging.

Nursing homes are a familiar and comfortable care option for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely allow access to individuals 55 and older (a rarity in theworldof senior care).Nursing homes are required to provide nursing and related services, a professionallly directed program of activities, medically-related social services, and pharmaceutical services to residents. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include cosmetic and grooming items, specially prepared food, and a private room, unless medically needed. Many residents of nursing homes are humanswith interpersonal social issues. These can span verbal fits, resisting assistance, or experiencing a desire to wander. Often times individuals might decide life in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a mental or physical disability that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their standard of living. Examples of amenities and servicesoffered at nursing homes can include social and recreational activities, adult day health care (which offers nursing and therapy) , care coordination and case management, and rehabilitation needed due to injury, disability, or illness.
