My mom was here for only 7 months in the long term unit. She had some dementia and came from assistant living for 5 years. She never thought of it as a nursing home. She still thought she was in assistant living.. To the family, that is the biggest compliment a nursing home can receive.. I would recommend Serenity Hill to others..thank you for being there for mom, especially during this time. She loved you all..
The Compass neighborhood at Cornerstone of Canton has been a blessing for my mom and my family. She was very reluctant to leave her home, but she finally did and has found a whole new life at Cornerstone and absolutely loves it there. Can't say enough about how wonderful it is, the activities, the meals, the special events are great. The residents really love them and I love seeing my mom so engaged in all the activities. The staff is wonderful to say the least, friendly, helpful and loved by my mom which is very important to me and my siblings. Shout out to [name removed]! She is always so patient and kind and helpful whenever I reach out to her with questions or concerns. I am so happy we chose Cornerstone for my mom, she is so happy here!!!
The staff is very nice. I feel reassured that my loved one is safe, has people to talk to, and things to do. Some of the activities include yoga, movies, games, happy hour, field trips, and more for the residents to choose from. The community has transportation to mass services, and doctor appointments, along with more. My loved one loves the food. The staff have been great to work with if I have questions or concerns.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home community offers residence to two or more individuals who have no family ties to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its residents around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These nurses provide health related services for those who are unable to care for themselves.
This type of community is a convenient and comfortable care alternative for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will frequently allow persons 55 and greater which is for other senior care types. Nursing homes are required to provide routine personal hygiene items, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), medically-related social services, and nursing and related services to residents. The most frequent mental issue effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their decision making capacities, and familiarity with their surroundings, and memory function. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include specially prepared food, a private room, unless medically needed, and cosmetic and grooming items. Many occupants of nursing homes may have behavioral problems. These can consist of resisting care, a tendency to wander, or verbal outbursts. A significant portion of nursing home occupants are persons who require assistance with daily tasks such as getting dressed, experience difficulty with hearing and sight, have incontinence issues, or have mental or physical disabilities.
