We picked this community, because we wanted a place that was only for memory care. She'd come from an assisted living facility with an attached memory care unit, but they did not know how to handle her and her Alz-related behaviors. The memory care facility attached was beyond our means. She would have been out of money in less than 8 months. So, finances were a factor as well. Windrose has a low-income program for residents who run out of money. We would say we received an overwhelming flurry of texts and phone calls when we went on the A Place for Mom site. We had started looking into nursing homes for my mom when [name removed] at Windrose called. We almost dismissed her, saying we think we're looking at a nursing home. But something told us not to hang up. When we told her all our concerns, she made it sound like Windrose was absolutely the place for someone with Alzheimer's and bad knees. She worked with us to find a way to make it work, both financially and physically. In assisted living, my mother was alone in her apartment many days, and she was fearful being alone. At Windrose, they make sure their residents are up and out of their rooms, in a community with other people. My mother's physical and cognitive issues remain, but emotionally she's doing much better. She is happy once she's out and about with other residents.... Read more

It's very convenient. All in all, it's a good deal. While the quality seemed to be the same as other places I looked into, Windrose is a lot cheaper, so our loved one's money will go farther. The staff is great, although there have been some staff changes already since we've been there.. I like that they do a good job getting everybody involved in activities.

I was pleased with the aides, but not with the facility's policy on medications and treatment. Windrose had my loved one medicated to the point of being lethargic and falling asleep when I would come to visit, and when I asked them about it, they said they don't monitor the condition of the patient before administering more medication. I think coordination between the prescribing doctors and the nurses who administer the medications and care is important, and I was not happy with that part of the care at Windrose. Even though I visited at all different times, I didn't' see activities going on. They would just set the residents in the TV room in front of an extremely loud TV, completely unengaged.

My mom loved it here. The staff were just terrific and I cannot say enough good about them, they were so helpful. They were great with communication as well especially right when she moved in and we were not able to go visit. The facility is set up so nicely, it is smaller and everything is intimate and close by. They have a nice enclosed garden area that is secure and she enjoyed spending time out there. I would highly recommend them to others who are looking and already have.

The community did everything for my loved one and took good care of them. You couldn't find a better place for memory care residents. The entire community is for memory care only. The staff are really good at working with the residents.

Our family is very happy with the care our loved one is receiving at Windrose Weymouth. Our patient is an individual diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's at a young age so finding the right community fit was difficult. The staff here is amazing! From the front desk and office staff to Activities to Resident Care, everyone makes resident care and comfort a top priority. Our loved one is treated with such empathy and kindness. The residents here are engaged with meaningful activities and experiences and the goal is to have each resident live their happiest life. We feel thankful for our experience with Windrose Weymouth and would highly recommend this Assisted Living facility.

We moved our loved one after COVID had started, there was a lot of things that were promised to us that were not delivered because of the shut down. They had closed down the amenities before our loved one moved it and was not upfront about it with us, However they did offer a lot of amenities, but due to COVID our loved one was not able to experience them.

The staff were all very nice and very helpful. They were very accommodating. The community was amazing. They had everything under control and had music devices to give to the residents if they were feeling stressed out. It was a beautiful place. Although a little high, we did think the price at Windrose At Weymouth was mostly worth it.

The community is usually very clean. The staff is very friendly and quite experienced. They seem like they know what they're doing. The care that they are giving my mother is quite exceptional, especially given her memory care needs. They have been very accommodating during the Covid-19 pandemic, allowing me to see her on her birthday.

We like the staff and the rooms here. The community has two levels and we wanted one level. This would be a good choice for families who want different living space for different levels of care. The food looked to be very appealing. We liked the cleanliness of the community. The activities would have been of great help for her. Only down side was that the activities area seem small and a bit cramped. We recommend the care and value to other families at this community

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

I toured this facility when I was looking into care options for my loved one. It is a brand new facility, and it is very nice looking. It is also very expensive, much more so than the option I ended up choosing. I was also somewhat put off by the sales staff, they were very polite but their "niceness" just felt very sales-y and not genuine.

Response from Windrose at Weymouth
March 4, 2014I apologize if I or my staff felt "sales-y", sometimes what feels genuine to one person may not feel that way to others. I am glad that you found an option that met your budget, however we have remedied the pricing issue by bringing on a low income program that assists families with limited income/assets.
Dad is moving to Monarch homes and I found it to be just what I was looking for for my him. The colors, activity schedule (he loves walks in the fresh air) and the great food (we had a yummy grilled cheese for lunch on our tour!) met my needs. If you want experienced staff in a place that helps - not just houses - people with dementia, then go to Monarch Homes.

My mother will be moving it to Monarch Homes of Weymouth this week. I found the building to be brilliantly laid out, with beautiful accommodations. The thoughtfulness in the design, and philosophy of care are what made us choose this place. We had lunch with the staff and were pleasantly surprised by the outstanding meal and service.

No pets. Only one occupant. Near bus line. Very hard to judge an empty facility. Facade would make Ma hang herself. Rooms very small. No private bathing area. Meals taken with staff for monitoring. No trips to Boston - they stay local.

Response from Windrose at Weymouth
March 4, 2014There is a reason that we do not allow pets, aside from allergies that staff and resident may have. As a Memory Care Community, the care of the pets would fall to staff as most dementia is progressive and resident may forget to feed, walk and groom their pets. We were newly opened in December and indeed had only one resident at that time. There are apartments available with private full baths, as well as those with half baths for those residents who may need more assistance with bathing. We have found that some residents would potentially flood an apartment with a shower in it, not to mention the fall and burn risk if they were to attempt a shower on their own. We do indeed use local venues for our excursions outside the community.

A Place for Mom has scored Windrose at Weymouth 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
