The transition of my Mom from her home to the Heights Crossing Memory Care Unit has been wonderful. The entire staff has been compassionate and caring working with our family during this difficult time. The services offered have helped my Mom to adjust and she has a whole new group of friends. Everything she needs is there from a hairdresser to a podiatrist. My Mom loves to entertain and she is able to assist the staff helping to set tables for dinner and folding the linen napkins. She is safe and cared for by a fantastic staff.... Read more

My parents were only there for three and a half months from September to December 2022. They spent one day in regular Assisted Living then were moved to memory care where they spent the remainder of their time. The regular Assisted Living part was beautiful had nice activities and a beautiful dining room and good food. If I'm rating the memory care section separately, it was not a good experience for my parents or myself. Having moved them to Memory Care unit elsewhere, it has been very different. From my experience I would not recommend this memory care unit and would give it a 3. It wasn't horrible neither was it good. It was crowded and residents rooms always have to be locked.

They have healthy food. They have had plenty of activities, but my loved ones don't participate. One thing is, we should have started looking or a community/facility way before a crisis occurred. It's a family atmosphere. The staff and longevity of the staff, has made it great. Overall, the staff is very kind.

we toured this community and really liked the staff we met. they had a lot of residents and a lot of activities going on. with so much going on - we were unsure if my loved one would feel comfortable with the amount of recreation.
I would highly recommend the community to others. The food is very good, and there is no reason to be bored. The staff is extremely kind and will cook anything the resident wants. This is one of the thing that the residents looks forward to.

We chose Heights Crossing mostly because of the location of the facility, it was close to our work place so we could visit often. The room sizes at the facility were large and spacious. They had plenty of activities for residents to participate in. I thought the staff members were incredibly attentive and I would highly recommend to others looking. One thing that is written in the contract that I would point out is that they do charge you for last months rent, my loved one passed away and we did not get that money back.

Response from Heights Crossing
August 20, 2021Thank you so much for leaving this review, and we are glad you had a great experience touring our community! We are happy to meet with any family looking for a more support living environment for their loved ones, even if you are just starting out in the process.
What stood out to us at first was that it felt like a family environment, the staff is incredibly friendly. The community itself looks very nice, it does not look institutional. Our loved one really loves the food. The rooms are renovated and modern as well as private. They have all the necessary amenities.

Rabbi [Name removed] at H.C. for over 20 years and spoke to my attorney [name removed] and elder law attorney. Both the Rabbi and staff at Hawthorne took me here. I had 4 interviews with the assistant directory [name removed] they had certain standards you have to have. I told Kathy that I was legally blind. She said 'we will assist you when you ask for it." 3 meals a day with choices, great activities, clean apartment once a week. " [Name removed] is wonderful and his staff members are great. We always have wonderful programs.

A Place for Mom has scored Heights Crossing 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
