Overall, this is the best place for her, although no where is perfect, staff are willing to listen and work together for Moms best care. The entertainment and food are great! Sometimes they are low in staff. It is expensive, but worth it!

The Palms at LaQuinta in La Quinta, CA

Our family could not be happier with the care, love and attention my mom has received at The Palms. Everything written in the description of The Palms is that AND more?? The Palms exudes a sense of family and we can rest easy knowing when we leave Mom each time she is in loving hands. P.S. My mom loves the delicious meals each day and having run multiple kitchens as a Registered Dietitian she has had NO complaints.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home provides residence to at least two individuals who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its occupants 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These nurses provide care for those who cannot care for themselves because of their aging.

This type of community is a familiar and comfy living option for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will admit individuals 55 and older which is for other senior care types. Many occupants of nursing homes are persons with behavioral difficulties, which can consist of verbal outbursts, a tendency to wander, or resisting care. A significant amount of residents tend to be single women with circles of support, and almost 50% of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old. Nursing homes are required to provide medically-related social services, a professionallly directed program of activities, routine personal hygiene items, and dietary services to residents.
