The location and facilities are good. The overall care is good although there is some caregivers that are much better than others. The food leaves much to be desired. Activities center around women. Men do not seem to participate much. Partly because most are very limited physically. My wife is comfortable here. I not so much as there is not much for me to do as well limited companionship.

Staff is very warm and engaging towards residents. Staff deals with conflicts with and between combative residents (as is common with dementia sufferers) with kindness, patience and confidence. Staff works very hard to give residents the best possible living environment. Staff is also responsive to the residents' family members.

Our family could not be happier with the care, love and attention my mom has received at The Palms. Everything written in the description of The Palms is that AND more?? The Palms exudes a sense of family and we can rest easy knowing when we leave Mom each time she is in loving hands. P.S. My mom loves the delicious meals each day and having run multiple kitchens as a Registered Dietitian she has had NO complaints.

The staff, without exception are professional, warm, compassionate and patient. They always smile, laugh, sing and dance through the most challenging situations. Staff seems well trained to care for memory care residents.

It was a bit expensive and the staff needed help with communicating. In a great location, they provide local transportation, the food is good and the place is clean. We picked this community because it was close to where I live.

BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE. [name removed]and [name removed]are scammers and do NOT care about people. STAY AWAY This community made a commitment to us and a room was reserved, deposit made, moving plans made, trips out to the facility 110 heat. Drives from LA to view. Done deal, move date [date removed]. Random message yesterday from [name removed] saying they now cannot take her. NOT A FIT. I call BS as their nurse did an evaluation and we were good to go. $[removed]we paid to get the assessment form completed by our physician. WEEKS of planning. Poof, all for nothing. These are people lives they are messing with. They simply do not care. No apology could make up for the stress and anxiety we experienced at this this place. If they handle people this way before move in, cannot imagine how they treat people who can't take care of themselves. Palms does not honor commitments made. [name removed]and [name removed] are liars and cheats. This is someone's LIFE they just turned upside down - Who does this? Stay away, this place is not good

Stay away from this place! They discriminate, and they have deplorable business practices. They take your money, assign your elderly family a room, and then they retract everything. We spent weeks and weeks on relocation for my elderly mother. No problems, assessment was completed, level of care was established, room was selected, being held, and within 24 hours of the agreement the facility completely backpedaled, and said she was not a fit. [name removed] is nothing but a glorified used car salesman. She'll sell you the world and offer you everything there is, that does not follow through. [name removed] is the Director. He is a discriminatory individual and picks and chooses who he wants. What kind of business makes promises and then backs out of these promises. Elderly people are being taken advantage of by this place. Discriminatory practices at this establishment. [name removed] lied, bottom line. How can you trust your elderly parents to be taken care of in such a place! Spoke with the regional

This place is like nothing I've ever seen! It does not look like a typical assisted living facility. The grounds are so well kept and they have so many amenities for the residents. They offer even short-term stays! [Name removed] is truly amazing and such an asset to the community! Great job.

The staff at The Palms at LaQuinta all appeared to like their position there. They were all friendly with one another and the residents. It didn't seem like just a job to them. The staff responded quickly most of the time, with weekends being a little slower to respond, due to potential staffing shortages. My loved one did not care for the food and he was not alone, but I brought in snacks/food to supplement. The overall rating is a 5, because of the care that my loved one received. The care that my loved one received allowed him to get well and come home. The staff communicated with me in a timely manner, about my loved one's status. Residents and staff all communicated very well. I would absolutely recommend The Palms of LaQuinta! All communities have issues sometimes, but the care at The Palms is what really makes it a shining star. My loved one was safe and taken care.

We picked this community because, it was reffered by A Place for Mom, and they had staff to support the insulin need/diabetic care needs for my loved one. It's a beautiful facility, which is now under new management. they are really doing a nice job. They have very caring staff, who follows through, and is very responsive to any questions that I may have.

This community was absolutely amazing and helped me and my mom so much. No bad things at all this was a wonderful place for my mom. If you need a place for a loved one that needs support this is great. My loved one did activities like work outs, yoga, physical therapy, bingo, poker, sewing, karaoke, a library and more for the residents to stay active. They also had movie time and church for the residents, and a hair salon.

We chose Palms at La Quinta because the staff to resident ratio was really good. They do offer shared and private rooms, he has a shared room and has had no problems with it. I really appreciate the quality care they give to my brother in the memory care unit, they are very patient with him. I would definitely recommend to others looking.

We toured this community and it was a very good tour. The staff was extremely helpful and had lots of good information for us.
I would tell others that they did used to contact me a lot and update me on our loved one, with the covid mess going on there has been less communication. But before the virus communication was great. Overall, I would recommend.

We can see the activities online and it looks like they do a lot. They also have a zoom chat where you can interact with your loved. We really like the feedback we get from the care givers, they call us all the time updating us about our loved one. We think the rooms are great, however we do wish in the memory care area that they have some type of thin carpet that is padded just in case they fall

A Place for Mom has scored The Palms at LaQuinta 9.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
