I leased an apartment at Casa De Oro and just moved in. It has been a wonderful and friendly experience. I have a beautiful apartment that overlooks the bay. The morning light is fabulous. I looked at all the reviews before coming out to visit. I loved the property and the manager leased me a wonderful apartment. My experience was wonderful from the cleanliness to the wonderful fragrance throughout the building is so nice. I haven’t had use for maintenance yet. I look forward to living here.

Complete guide to independent living

Portland, Texas

Independent Living

For those who desire to live primarily without personal assistance but wish for the convenience of having housekeeping taken care of by professionalls, an Independent Living Community could be the perfect choice. Meals, recreational activities and housekeeping duties are taken care of for you while you are unencumbered to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of independent health care providers, they always have the option. There are a variety of benefits and expenses to keep in mind while determining an independent living community.
