Brookdale Northshore

The entire staff is the friendliest, politest and most efficient group I could have ever imagined. Any and every request has been handled with superb courteous professionalism. Seriously, I am not a person that hands out compliments unless they are truly deserved. I have never encountered a group of people so deserving of high praise.

The staff are very friendly and will try to help whenever a request is made. Sadly the Corporation is raising rates so it is very very difficult to keep families members here and not moving them around constantly in the late years of life. The Galloway carpets need replaced, which is also on Corporate. The biggest thing is the cottages are not handicap accessible to the main building, which I would think is not legal, but again it has been brought up numerous times, but local staff hands are tied because Corporate does not allocate them enough money. Yet Corporate has no problem raising rent every year and it is usually by hundreds a month. The rates go up but there is no exercise pool, no holiday barbecues and if they have a cold trip you will have to come up with the money for that as well. Sadly, I would suggest looking right across the bridge in Corpus, where you will get more bang for your buck. As for my family we have all aged and are unable to move our loved one physically.

Meets all of our expectations. Staff is pleasant and very friendly. Need to get used to having people so close after living in the country for 16 years. The facility is pleasant and residents are well cared for with compassion and understanding.

I love all the staffs and residents here. They are so nice and friendly. They always there to help you at all time with a smiles on there face. Will recommend this place to anyone that are looking for a nice place to live. I love them

I would say Brookdale Northshore is a very good place, with room for improvement, as is the case with many places. I appreciate the available services and regular contact with others. Location is very good. Portland is still a place that is easy to get around and has stores, etc. to meet your needs. And the beach is close with some lesser known within blocks. I would recommend Northshore Brookdale. Value for the cost is reasonable until you factor in the meals. A great deal of the time food is served cold. Brookdale is chronically short handed in proving dining services to the table. Variety is limited. The wait staff, however, is pleasant and attempts to meet residents' needs within parameters set by administrative staff. I appreciate the socializing activities, but again activities show limited variety. Overall, my score would be 4 with areas of improvement that may be coming due to increased specialized staff (dietitian) and increased communication meetings. I have no desire to move and appreciate the socialization, activities, transportation assistance, and regular meals.

I would recommend you look at the community to see if this would be a good fit for your loved one. There were times that my loved one's backyard would flood due to an open sewer line. My loved one enjoyed the food. The staff were good to work with if there were any questions or concerns.

My loved one moved into Brookdale Northshore not long ago, and she seems to be very happy there. The community is very clean, she seems to enjoy the food, and we really appreciate the helpful and friendly staff. I would recommend this community to others.

I am happy with the care here. The staff is outstaninding and the care for my father is law has been great. The community is very clean and maintained. He is active in the activities that are good . for him. We recommend the care and the value to other families wanting good care and value.

At Brookdale Northshore friendliness is 5+. I've been real happy with the way mom has felt welcome by everyone. The staff are so friendly. What I would change is they have one guy that does good at maintenance. The other maintenance worker is not so good. Marv is trying to do it all and he cant keep up. He does a great job and is always trying so hard. They just need more capable maintenance workers. Other than that she loves this facility. She is happy. Mom said the perfect words just this weekend, "I feel like I'm home."

They were great. They could have done a little better with the cleaning. The staff was great! They were very responsive, and they had a good variety of activities. He enjoyed the food there, and we don't really have any complaints.

Workers let my mother lie on the floor for over 30 hours without checking on her. Her friends kept telling the desk that they hadn't seen her. No one checked until a different person came on the desk the next day. She had had a stroke and of course we know time is of the essence. Not for my mother thanks to Carriage Inn.

My grandmother has lived at this community for years now. It's the cleanest and friendliest property in the area. Any question or issue we have is addressed with urgency. There is ALWAYS someone available to help. The director makes sure you have her cell phone number upon move in in the unlikely event that you have a question or problem that you need her to address immediately. The liveliness of the community is evident upon arrival. I agree that they are not the newest, but they are defiantly the BEST.

This is the one I would most enjoy living myself. I like the private patio areas, and not too many scooters in the hallways like there were at other places. This location is also most convenient for me. It doesn't have assisted living, and that may be a plus because there seems to be less regulation in an independent only place.

This was not as nice as the place we ultimately chose for my parents. The food was not as good and it's an older place.
