Villa South Assisted Living and Memory Care

I am currently looking for an Assisted Living for my Mother (88, a Retired Nurse, the worst critic's) that includes an opportunity for advanced/memory care. I did not schedule an appointment w' Sales at Villa South. I decided to drop in after caring for Mom all day. Tired, frustrated, need a solution! I was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived. It was clean, smelled good, the Staff was welcoming, but I was not rushed like a " car lot. " Bingo was just letting out so, I encountered a Resident in the hallway. She has only been there 2 months, but, she spoke very honestly about Villa South, her circumstances and care, cost, food, activities etc. She took me to her apartment and gave me a tour. It was clean, very spacious, includes an ADA restroom and kitchenette! I visited with her for about 30 minutes, asking many specific questions. She mentioned Villa South was not her first choice, but the BEST CHOICE and half the price! Care is genuine, food is really good, she's been invited/es

I would suggest you go visit to make sure it's the right fit. There are certain qualifications your loved one has to pass to be able to stay there. It's a perfect fit for our loved one in her current situation. She has her own little efficiency apartment and a lot of independence. She loves the food. And they take good care of her. The location was great for our family as well.

It had its good points, and I felt it would be good for him, but didn't turn out that way. Probably ok for some, maybe not everyone. I experience theft from an employee there, but it was simply a my word against his case, he set it up perfectly, and they continue to let him work, but not around my husband. They clearly have tape documentation of he being the only person in the room. Disappointed they ask us to leave, after a fall. Overall, most things went well, as I said, but there were some safety issues too.....fraying rugs that proposed danger to patients, as well as visitors, etc. especially when a patient cannot do things for themselves.

The staff are so wonderfully kind, caring, and flexible about our needs that I think Villa South deserves the highest rating.

This place is good, clean and respectful place. I am a nurses that comes to visit patients and always greet you with a smile. I always love coming to see my pt.

The employees at Villa South; the CNAs, reception, Unit Managers, Med Aid(--everyone!) have gone above and beyond to speak with me, keep me updated, give me feedback etc. every visit. During COVID, we pulled together as a team. If it had not been for their devotion, the rate of infection would have been catastrophic, you need more!

They have a very welcoming staff, but their weekends are understaffed and they can't provide enough attention to the patients. Also, they don't know how to efficiently handle a patient that is gradually dying, like my loved one was. He fell four times when he was there. I didn't hire anybody on the weekend to watch him, so I consider that 50% their fault and 50% my fault. They hired a hospice company (Kendra's Hospice), and it was the first time they had dealt with that company. I ended up having to fire the hospice nurse and wrote the hospice company a letter. Someone from their company did call me to tell me they were going to give training to all of their staff regarding how they spoke to the dying patient and their families. The Villa South staff were very nice and allowed me to come and visit whenever I wanted or needed to. I just didn't consider them to be watching my loved one enough on the weekends. But it was blurry what they should be responsible for vs. hospice. I think a lot of our problems revolved around hospice's services, which I did not appreciate at all.

We chose Villa South because they were recommended to us and we have no regrets whatsoever. I have not seen the facility but my sister has, she said that the room is nice size and she is going to start decorating it. They keep me informed all of the time about what it going on. It is a convenient location and I feel secure that my mom has plenty of room to run around here but cannot escape. I would absolutely recommend to others.

We had a very short stay here, but while he was there we really liked the facility. They were awesome with communication and keeping me informed. out of all the places we visited in advance, they were the friendliness and most family oriented place which is why we chose the facility. I would recommend Villa South to anybody looking.
