The Terraces at Kingwood Town Center
4.9 / 5.0

We haven't had a negative experience. The hurricane is a natural disaster that is always going to be challenging. They evacuated my dad and he is safe. Yes we would recommend this community to other families. I know there is a lot of negative right now but we don't feel that way. Even my almost 89 year old father isn't complaining. It is an independent living facility. My dad gets extra support from providers we pay for. With that being said Terraces's is providing support to him during the evacuation.

Discovery Village Clear Lake in Webster, TX
4.5 / 5.0

I would highly recommend this facility. The staff is readily available and genuinely friendly from housekeeping to dining staff to the front desk and maintenance. Housekeeping picks up trash daily, cleans apartments and changes bedding weekly, and maintains the common spaces to an immaculate level. The meals offer a menu with a wide variety of choices for lunch and dinner along with daily dinner and lunch specials. Both meals include beverages of choice and a desert. There is also a M-F Happy Hour from 4-5 with a staff maintained bar (2 drinks max/person) just to allow another social opportunity. There are two shuttle buses and a schedule for taking residents to doctors, shopping and running errands. There are also trips to go out for dinner/lunch and special outings.

Reunion Court of Clear Lake in Houston, TX

It is a very nice community. Our loved one had dementia and it was very hard for her to be happy but, I feel the care givers tried very hard to make her feel comfortable and happy. They seemed to always have some sort or activity going on and the food was very good also.

Independent Living

For seniors who desire to live primarily without personal care assistance but would like the assistance of having housekeeping maintained by professionalls, an Independent Living Community might be the perfect option. Food preparation, recreational activities and housekeeping duties are taken care of while you are unrestricted to use your time as you desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a variety of advantages and expenses to consider while determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are included in the service plan: parking, utilities, Waiting list deposit, internet access, wellness program, initial assessment fee, private phone, and move-in fee. The amenities associated with independent living include golf course, private rental hall, healthcare center, concierge services, fitness center & swimming pool, transportation, game/TV room, and security guards.
