The Terraces at Kingwood Town Center
4.9

We haven't had a negative experience. The hurricane is a natural disaster that is always going to be challenging. They evacuated my dad and he is safe. Yes we would recommend this community to other families. I know there is a lot of negative right now but we don't feel that way. Even my almost 89 year old father isn't complaining. It is an independent living facility. My dad gets extra support from providers we pay for. With that being said Terraces's is providing support to him during the evacuation.

It is a very nice community. Our loved one had dementia and it was very hard for her to be happy but, I feel the care givers tried very hard to make her feel comfortable and happy. They seemed to always have some sort or activity going on and the food was very good also.

Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally able to live without assistance, but cost of owning a home might be a deterrent to an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities offer a great remedy to this situation. Basic chores such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is maintained, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they choose, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a number of expenditures and benefits to keep in mind when selecting an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are included in the care plan: housekeeping, laundry, internet access, initial assessment fee, parking, cable TV, meals, and utilities. The amenities that pertain to independent living include healthcare center, transportation, laundry service, restaurant-style dining hall, golf course, beauty salon & barber shop, fitness center & swimming pool, and security guards.
