My 89 year old mother passed in the care of Brookdale. They were compassionate and caring. They treated her with respect and dignity and helped her feel safe. She had Alzheimer's, was near blind, and near deaf. I visited often at all different times of day. I observed excellent service on all occasions. I received timely phone calls when there were any issues of concern in her care. I would highly recommend this facility for elders. Coordination of care with home health and hospice was seamless and I felt supported by the Brookdale staff throughout my mother's stay.
Staff is always happy to listen to me. I can be a bit of a handful and get cantankerous. Staff is patient. And willing to joke around! After being here awhile you build strong connections. Those bonds you make are everything. Can't imagine living anywhere else.
I recently moved my mother into independent living. She loves it! There is so many activities to do and opportunities. The food is pretty decent, not top Michelin Star but better than other places we tried. Bonaventure made the move in process so easy for us and had top notch communication.

Independent living offers a stress-free lifestyle for older adults. Independent living communities don’t provide personal care or supervision, but do offer generally healthy adults opportunities for socialization and hassle-free living. Independent living services often include:
An Independent Living Community allows residents the chance to live an independent lifestyle while assuring their basic needs are being fulfilled. Daily needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are taken care of, which permits residents more opportunities to live their lives as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always enlist the services of independent care providers. There are a number of benefits and costs to consider when selecting an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in your care plan: internet access, initial assessment fee, laundry, wellness program, Waiting list deposit, field trips, private phone, and transportation. The benefits associated with independent living include game/TV room, transportation, laundry service, healthcare center, beauty salon & barber shop, golf course, concierge services, and private rental hall.
