Grandma Joan's Live-In Care Consulting and Recruiting in Oakland, NJ
5.0

Grandma Joan's provided me with a very easy to use platform to find and employ a live-in caregiver for my 104-year-old dad. All the administrative details which would have been very hard for me to find out and deal with were included in the step-by-step guidance provided. On one hand the service is pricey but on the other, not easy to find a comprehensive package that would have resulted in such a trustworthy arrangement, which was the overarching criterion. California has stricter rules about payment to caregivers than other states so cost is simply higher but given that as an unavoidable feature, this was still a more viable set up than I could otherwise find. All in all, I am very glad that I was referred to David and his service which has so far had a good outcome.

Senior Helpers - Salem, OR
4.3

The reason for the "3" ratings are because the caregivers never seemed to be consistent. Since they couldn't get the same caregivers to come each day we had to tell them every time what needed to be done.

Caring for the Coast in Astoria, OR
5.0

Caring for the Coast came to our family's rescue when our mother, whose independence was curtailed by dementia, suddenly became a widow. Caring for the Coast met with us on short notice and conducted a thorough and efficient intake meeting. Collaboratively, they designed a plan of care that enabled our mother to stay living in her home. They provided companionship, meal preparation, housekeeping, social interaction, activities, and errands. All the caregivers are highly professional, well trained, They all go above and beyond their basic job requirements. On the administrative level, the owners and managers are organized, efficient, thorough, and a joy to work with. In working with them to craft the individual plans of care that continue to evolve for our mother, they demonstrate a high level of flexibility and creativity and always have valuable insights. We wholeheartedly recommend them as they continue to put the best of "care" in Caring for the Coast.

Home Care

Assistive home care consists of many services that can be provided in your family’s home. Most home care agencies review potential clients prior to entry. This screening might include ADLs abilities, health problems, and weight/nutritional status. This care type can provide various medical services such as assisting residents in drinking fluid to swallow medication, opening container lids, and aid in self-administration of medication. This care type offers multiple services including laundry, assistance scheduling medical appointments, and short-term nursing care. Furthermore, services offered may include ventilator care and meal preparation. In-home care may also afford your family member help doing laundry and going grocery shopping. Finally, companion care can provide your family member with health services such as assistance with ambulation and monitoring vitals.
