Everybody was extremely nice and helpful in getting me in touch with the right resources to move my loved one into the place. I thought it was a good facility and I can not think of any improvements that need to be made.

I JUST REALLY LIKE THE PLACE THE FIRST VISIT TO IT THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND MADE US FEEL LIKE WE WERE ALREADY AT HOME.

Azalea House in Decatur, GA
4.5

This facility is unique. Mid 2015 it was purchased by a new owner, who is also the Director and she has improved the Home dramatically, with fresh paint, new carpet and hardwoods. It is a smaller facility that has a very residential feel. The rooms are big, the staff are friendly, caring and attentive to the residents needs...and the price is more affordable than the more corporate facilities. I was happy to have my Father living in and being cared for at this facility.

They need a little more activities to keep residents especially in memory care engaged. However, based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families.

Stockbridge, Georgia

Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally able to live without assistance, but cost of owning a home might be a deterrent to enjoying an otherwise independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities offer a convenient remedy to this situation. Daily needs such as housekeeping and meal planning are taken care of, which provides occupants more free time to live life as they desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of private health care providers, they may always do so. There are an assortment of benefits and expenses to keep in mind when choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in your care plan: Waiting list deposit, wellness program, housekeeping, initial assessment fee, meals, move-in fee, utilities, and parking. The amenities associated with independent living include healthcare center, community activities, concierge services, private rental hall, game/TV room, fitness center & swimming pool, golf course, and beauty salon & barber shop.
