Gardenias

Horrible! This facility could be so much better and worth every penny spent, if management was better. They’re always short staffed, no one answers the phone/door, and facility is dirty (floors sticky, resident rooms are filthy). This use to be a nice place where residents would do for themselves, but it’s a full nursing home. Majority of all the residents are in wheel chairs, the food is unbearable (to eat and to look at). My mother is currently in the facility now and has lost so much weight due to malnutrition (in my opinion). Activities are few to none, half of the time the residents are sleep in the dining room. It’s just sad at this point. I’ve made the state aware with no repercussions, seems as if the states doesn’t care either.

When it comes to the activities I do not really know, I know they gave them but my mom. It's hard to get her to go she likes her room. Overall, they have been great to mom and we would most definitely recommend them to others. They have been in transition with meals dinning and it's not bad they are just trying to make improvements. One thing I would change not a huge deal, they have to open and let you in the door. They do not have code access but sometimes it takes the workers a bit to. Come open the door but that's usually weekends evenings less employees there.

I would tell them to please find another place. I would not recommend it to anyone.

We four siblings, who all live out-of-state, were tasked with finding the right living situation for our older, single brother who really needed assistance after some health challenges. He wanted to stay close to his long time home. The hunt was on! As the retired RN sibling, I understood just what kind of assistance my brother required. We needed to find a caring place, that would work with us to meet his needs. I thought of A Place for Mom. I had worked with this group several years before, while searching for a place for my mother-in-law and later for my own mother. Those searches had been very positive experiences, and I needed that same help to find the right place now. After virtual tours, much discussion, getting to know the leadership staff, and much prayer, we made the decision to move him in! We have been very satisfied and pleased with everything! He’s getting great, personalized care and that’s exactly what he needs! He’d rather be home, but he is grateful.

Everyone at Gardenias is very friendly and helpful! My Mom has been very well taken care of. I would recommend this facility to others.

They need updating, maybe they could paint the rooms. I feel safe with my loved one there. The staff answered questions. The cook was always cheerful and shared recipes. They are always very acoomodating. A beauty salon would be nice. Overall, I am very satisfied with The Gardenias.

The staff is very friendly and caring and I like this community. Communication is good between the staff and our family and they keep us up to date and well informed. I would recommend this community to others.

I like the facility and one of the main reasons was one of the staff members, [name removed]. Her dad has dementia and I really felt like she was very helpful and really a good advocate for my brother. They had a place outside where you are able to go sit with the residents. My favorite part about the community would be that they appreciated my brother and truly enjoyed him. I would recommend this facility.

We chose The Gardenias because I was looking for respite care and didn't need some place permanent, just if I ever needed to leave and they were able to work with me on that. The prices here were also fair. The room sizes were great, very large. The food was not that great, they did not seem to have a lot of variety, but overall I would recommend depending on the needs of the person.

My mother liked it here. They did a good job with caring for her. The staff was very friendly. It would have been nice if they were a little better with answering the phone but this might have been because they were slightly understaffed. They did the best they could. They were pretty good about communicating with me about my mother's care and would reach out to me if there was ever an issue.

I have had my mom here for a short while but in that time I've only seen caring and friendly staff trying to do a job I feel so many really do not understand especially with dementia patients. I feel no place is like home but if you have to go to outside sources you hope things go well. I cannot visit as often as I would like to but I feel comfortable that mom is being cared for. I appreciate all the staff do for my mom and pray if they are ever in need that someone be there for them in the same way.

I just toured the facility. Great staff, polite and well dressed in teal. The residents were happy and was enjoying a lively game of bingo. I was invited to lunch and the food was great. The patients were all interacting with each other. This will be a great place for my mom. Can’t wait to move forward and move in this week. Thank you for the great tour.

Great facility, love the service and the staff. Everyone was so attentive to my mom and dad while they were at the facility. The food was great and they prepared food made to order for my parents. Would not put my parents anywhere else. Thank you for all the hard work. I will continue praying for all the staff that’s there.

Great facility, the staff went above and bejond caring for my mom then my dad. Wouldn’t think of going anywhere else for my love ones. Wanted to live there myself. I have eaten there many times loved the food, they cook food specific for my mom. Couldn’t ask for a more friendly staff. Both my mom and dad loved going outside and sit on the benches. In the spring lots of birds came to feed on the bird feeders that was available. They also loved the pray groups that come in to pray with the residents. I pray that all the staff and residents keep well and continue caring for the patients that the lord has put them there to care for. Thanks Gardenias

Was not impressed, the building was nice but not clean. At the time of my visit there should have been some activity going on, but there was none. Hand written menu that read like a kid's menu, and the hand written activities calendar centered around watching tv and sing alongs. My gut feeling was that these were just for show in case the state showed up. I saw no staff or residents. When I remarked about this, I was told the caretakers were probably in the back. She called them to come say hey but the just walked by and smiled, wearing street clothes, no scrubs. Everything about my visit told me this place is not run very professionally.
