Recent reviews of Independent Living in Canton, GA
Sunrise of East Cobb in Marietta, GA
4.0

Transition from hospital with staff and hospice at Sunrise was not what was expected. Lack of staff for weekend and holiday. When emergency button pushed sometimes no response or over 30 minute response. Medications not administered as needed. Needs of patient could not be met in a timely manner. 24 hour care essential to make sure patient needs were attended to.

Brickmont of West Cobb in Marietta, GA
4.8

We can only speak for the memory care section. We love the 9-5 staff of Brickmont, but the staffing and care was not the same or best experience on nights and weekends. High turnover, 50% lovely caring people, just not enough of them.

Cumming Senior Living
5.0

We moved our dad here in January of this year. I have been so happy with the quality of care and cleanliness. All of the other families of the residents that I’ve met are all so kind. The food is excellent as well! I highly recommend Cumming Nursing Center for your loved one.

Complete guide to independent living

Canton, Georgia

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a nice balance between an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about chores. You or your loved one can use their free time as they desire while their meals are cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and recreational activities are organized and scheduled. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private care providers. There are an assortment of benefits and costs to balance when selecting an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are included in your service plan: transportation, initial assessment fee, housekeeping, laundry, cable TV, meals, wellness program, and private phone. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include community activities, concierge services, fitness center & swimming pool, private rental hall, game/TV room, restaurant-style dining hall, transportation, and healthcare center.
