I give them a five in all categories. I can't say enough about the kindness of the staff. They recently got a new management company for which they work. There has been some turnover in leadership positions. There also been some lower level staffing issues. However, I attribute this to being part of the transition to a new management group. Response from Camellia Place An Oaks Senior Living Community
June 24, 2024Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are grateful for the opportunity to care for your friend at our community.
Great environment for providing memory care. Excellent support and response from administrative staff, activities director and on duty nurse practitioner. Food is very good and housekeeping is on top of keeping the unit clean. As with most senior facilities, there have been some adjustment and transitional snags and lapses, but staff is quick to remedy any issues. My husband has adapted well which is so important to making life for him as normal as possible. Thank you Camellia Place!??

Response from Camellia Place An Oaks Senior Living Community
April 22, 2024Jeannette - Thank you for taking the time to leave a five star review of our community. We are grateful for your insight.
Camellia Place was beautiful. The facility is very pretty and so clean. It is set up in little cottages which would be great for those who are more anti-social. We did not see a lot of mingling going on between residents. For my dad he would have had to walk from the cottage to the main building to interact with others and we knew that would not happen which was why we decided against them. It seemed like a great choice though!
Our family had an in person tour and we really liked it but it does have 6 different buildings so if you wanted to go to the main building for activities you would have to walk completely outside.

April 14, 2022Thank you Becky for your review. So glad that you liked our community.
Our tour with Camellia Place was great, but they do not accept pets at all here so we went with another facility.

October 5, 2021Thank you for the kind review. I am sorry we couldn't accommodate your pet but glad you found someone that could.
I tell everyone I know that they will not find a better assisted living than Camellia Place. My mom thought she was not ready but yesterday she said "Why did you let me wait so long?" That means the world. I'm happy and so is she, and that says it all.

September 15, 2021Thank you Beth for the great review! So glad to hear that our mother is happy.
No one has to ask me to say nice things about Camellia Place. I would do anything for them. There is nothing more important to me than my Dad. He says they do everything for him before he can even ask. He says he doesn't deserve it, but I know he deserves it all and more. Camellia Place is absolutely the best!

September 15, 2021I am so happy to hear that your dad is happy. Our fathers and mothers deserve the best and we do our best to provide that!
I loved the design of the household model from the moment I first saw it, but what a blessing in covid-19. My mom was not isolated to her room, she got to live in her house, eat meals in her home with her other house mates, and maintain her schedule of activities. Way to go Camellia Place!
Response from Camellia Place An Oaks Senior Living Community
August 17, 2021Our household model has always been a great environment for our residents and staff. Especially during Covid, our residents were still able to be active in their house and enjoy meals together. Thank you for your positive review.
I looked at every community within a 20 mile radius before selecting Camellia Place for my mom. Best decision ever! They deliver what they say they will and that is just so rare. This team truly cares and it shows. High 5's all the way around.

August 17, 2021Thank you for your positive reply. Our goal is to deliver on our mission "Adding Life to Years". I am glad you are happy and that your mother is too!
We did a virtual tour with Camellia Place which is the only reason I gave it a 4, since we could not go inside. I felt that it was not going to be the right fit for my mom, it was more of a community type environment rather than apartments.

August 9, 2021I am sorry we were not the fit for your mother but thank you for the positive review.
During these scary, unpredictable days, Camellia Place is such a blessing. While the virus seems to rage on the outside, we can rest assured that our loved ones are safe, secure, and we’ll cared for within this wonderful community. The many activities keep the residents engaged and smiling. The dedicated and caring staff have become an extension of our family, and we can’t be more grateful. Thank you Camellia Place!

March 4, 2021We are blessed to have families such as you that share your loved ones with us.
The rooms at the community are very nice, they are large and well maintained. There are two common areas in each building, there are six residential buildings with green spaces between them. The common areas offer a lot like book and TV's. The food is extremely tasty, but the problem is there is to much fat. They cook with fatty ingredients that are found from find resurtauts, they cook gourmet but there is just to much fat and carbs. The staff is extremely friendly and caring.

March 4, 2021Thank you for the review. It is a treat having your mother here. She really enjoys getting involved with activities.
First off the community is pretty, but the charm ends there. The pretty faces are severely lacking on execution of what they sell you. Care is inconsistent to the point our father ended up in the hospital due to lack of oversight from the care staff. A new RN was brought in who was not brought up to speed on our dad's medical needs and he was hospitalized for something that was a known medical observation to watch for. They have handled COVID poorly, routinely shutting down due to staff members contracting COVID. They are rigid to the point of unhealthy in not allowing family to see residents. They also ask that you take your residents to the doctors appointments because their transportation can't handle it, but turn around and refuse family visits. They are losing their head RN in [date removed], which will make a bad situation worse. The Executive Director and Owners are unresponsive and run the community like a fortune 500 company not a caring home. Value doesn't match pricepoint.

I feel the need to say thank you to as many Healthcare staff that I can. During the stressful time we appreciate you coming to work giving it your all, especially when you could be surrounded by your family. I appreciate your hard work and dedication. You are a blessing not only to the people you helped during the day but to your community. Thank you for being an inspiration. Please stay safe and healthy.

December 8, 2020We agree that our staff is a blessing to Camellia Place. Thank you for your review.
This is a love story that concluded, for one (however some might think it's a regular beginning rather than conclusion) as beautiful as it began. We cannot predict our lives in any way however, we would love to think that we have those "wonderful golden years" to look forward to. This Love story does not end in the same for everyone but for [names removed] it couldn't have been more perfect. At the age of 90, plus or minus a few years, the [name removed] found their way to an oasis and the chaos of transitioning through those "wonderful golden years." The Oasis was Camellia Place in Woodstock Georgia ( who would have thought?) unvailed on both of them ( an all the resident) daily. These two special lovers are my parents. 90 + years young and almost 73 years of marriage found them not separated by distance or Illness but sheltered in an environment of comfort, joy, and beauty. Mom recently peacefully passed away. As a family, we couldn't have done better. My appreciation to everyone who works at Camellia Place, who has & will continue to charge my family's Lives is calculable. For all you've done and will continue to do I thank you! May God continue to bless this place and all its people.

December 8, 2020What a beautiful love story. Thank you for sharing your parents with us as well as the rest of the family. Your father continues to bring joy to our community and the neighborhood each and every day.
You are such an important part of the residence's lives on any given day, but now that facilities are locked down and we are sheltering in place, you are there everything. I can't help think of my dad [name removed] who would not have understood why we weren't coming to visit and it hurts my heart to think of the memory care residents who may be feeling that. But then remember the love and kindness you showed him and I know that is consistent support and patient will help them through this difficult and scary time. We are praying for the safety and health of you and your families, and will forever be grateful for the care and you give my dad. You are just wonderful people!

I can't say enough about Camellia Place in good times, but during this recent pandemic they have gone above and beyond to keep residents safe and to keep us informed. Peace of mind is priceless and that is what they deliver. Great job giving the facts with a good measure of human to keep all in perspective.

December 8, 2020Thank you Mary for the wonderful review. This crazy pandemic has been a challenge for everyone. Keeping our families informed and up to date is important. We are glad you feel that we are doing a good job!
I live in PA and I was the only surviving child of my mother, depend on CP to provide the best care possible. Even more so, I am only able to visit on a monthly basis. Even in the most of this covid-19 crisis, CP has sustained their consistent caring, safe environment... And added activities to counteract the effects of some necessary isolation. It is an amazing team!!

December 8, 2020Thank you David for the wonderful review! We love your mother and we are so glad she lives here at Camellia Place.
There are so many positive or should I say exemplary experiences at Camellia Place. My mom was the first resident and she has gone from assisted living now to Memory Care. Along this journey we have been blessed to have the staff hold our hand as we continued with comforting mom at this difficult time of life.
