The Plaza at Clover Lake in Carmel, NY

Mom seems to be doing well here. She has settled in nicely. She does what activities she can due to her dementia. As far as I know, she likes the food I haven't heard any complaints about it. The staff has been friendly and good-natured very professional. The community appears clean and well maintained.

Complete guide to independent living

Sandy Hook, Connecticut

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a balance between an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about housekeeping. Frequent needs such as housekeeping and meal planning are taken care of, which provides seniors more free time to live their lives as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers as desired. There are a variety of expenses and advantages to balance while choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in your plan: field trips, transportation, cable TV, utilities, wellness program, meals, housekeeping, and initial assessment fee. The conveniences that pertain to independent living include security guards, game/TV room, private rental hall, healthcare center, concierge services, golf course, beauty salon & barber shop, and transportation.
