February 29, 2024Hi HD, thank you for sharing your positive experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that the admitting process was smooth and that you found our staff helpful in creating a responsible and realistic plan for your father. We're excited when the apartments are renovated as well. We appreciate your feedback!
The staff are very good and very caring. If your loved one is in one division moving to another, for instance from skilled nursing to an independent apartment or vice versa, just be aware that the transition is not as smooth as it looks on the website. The communication between the different groups is not smooth enough. And you have to be an advocate for your person. The people are very friendly and good at what they do, but the two sections don't talk, which surprised me. The independent living apartments are very nice and well appointed. My loved one likes the food. It's a very nice place overall.

This community offers a nice variety of activities, they have a trivia night. They take the residents out on outings to different restaurant. They keep them pretty active and engage with each other. My father loves the food, its very well prepared, perfectly seasoned. They offer a great variety, great overall quality. We liked the common area it is very nice. The community is beautifully landscaped. The apartment is very spacious, and the staff is very friendly and helpful

My mother has been extremely happy here and the community itself is absolutely wonderful. She feels very safe and well taken care of here. The steps that they have taken to keep the residents safe during the Covid-19 pandemic have been amazing. The staff is absolutely wonderful to say the very least.

May 3, 2019Thank you for your high remarks. We are committed to 100% resident satisfaction and I am glad it shows. Please come and see us again soon. Sincerely, Fred Zarrilli, Managing Director Posted on behalf of Fred Zarrilli.
The employees at the Watermark (East Hill) are truly amazing people and it's the employees that make this a special place. I took Mom on many visits to numerous retirement communities but we kept coming back to the Watermark at East Hill (5 visits in total) before making the commitment. Mom was uncertain, incredibly nervous and scared of the big change that she was agreeing too. But one very special person made all the difference. She had all the patience in the world, very soft spoken and always followed up with the needed information. She also had a keen eye in watching out for the residents. One day we had lunch together at the 2nd floor Cafe and while conversing she noticed that a resident wasn't walking quite right, she quickly ran from her chair in an attempt to keep an elderly gentleman from falling. She ran at least 100 feet but was not in time. She sat with him quietly on the floor while speaking calmly and confidently so as not to upset him any further. She assessed the situation and directed the staff to get immediate attention. The Watermark is a wonderful place and [name removed] is an awesome employee. She made Mom feel at home, at her new home away from home. For the first few months I heard from [name removed] often with updates and advice. As time went on and Mom adjusted I heard from [name removed] less often. These days I just see her in the halls and get a big smile. Thank You to [name removed] and the Watermark!

The Villa is not for everyone but it is perfect for my mother. It is a very small (14 residents) dementia only place, and the pace is calm with a lot of down time. They do not use the television as a babysitter. It is like a dormitory, with a kitchen and livingroom for all the residents and two halls with seven rooms each. The rooms are small but the residents are not in them very much. They spend most of their time out in the living area. No place is perfect, but the staff at the Watermark/ the villa are continually trying to improve. There are activities, but not constantly. My mother's favorite part is the large front porch with the rocking chairs, she could rock all day long. We feel we have found as good as we can get in a facility for OUR mother.

The Watermark At East Hill is an outstanding place to live! My Mother moved here and we were worried about the transition as well as her acclimating. She has so much to do and adores all of the friendly and caring staff that she has already recommended a couple friends to move as well. I cant thank the staff and dedicated care takers for accommodating with Mother. The culture and atmosphere is amazing. It is eminent that the people in the community care and love the residents. The sales people made it a comfortable and easy transition so Mom felt right at home when she moved in. Maintenance has been a delight and is always there when you need something. I highly recommend this facility if you are looking for a loved one or even yourself.

Grounds are beautiful and staff is very friendly. It really is a nice place, however, I do think you need to do more to get the seniors involved in the activities that you arrange. Many of the activities are posted, but are not actually carried out due to lack of participation. Seniors need to know what's going on and need to be persuaded to join the activities. They do need constant reminders as I forget easily. Many times, I have seen that no one shows up to the activities except one or two persons who try to join, but they get discouraged because no one else is there. Please try to get everyone involved. Somehow, you have to encourage the seniors to join the activities and build camaraderie.

Facilities management is not good. Carpets removed and black vinyl flooring put in its place. Very unattractive. As a matter of fact it is ugly and depressing to look at and live with. And does not seem to be green material since the odor last for weeks. Walls painted in hallways and pictures placed on floor for over a month. Painters left about a month ago. The painters tape is still on the walls. All the residents notice it. Staff walk by daily. Blue painters tape remains. Depressing for residents since it clearly tells us no one cares. I have removed quite a bit of it myself but have stopped. The rent is high. I should not have to do it. Blue painters tape on the walls. All over the place and no one notices? Food is terrible. dried curling piece of fish with canned green beans that are over cooked. Sad place to live. Unreliable work. They start a job and never finish. Maybe the painters tape will be removed if someone reads this. But it should not have to be this way.

July 23, 2018As it is impossible to follow up directly on an anonymous post, I encourage you to call or visit me to discuss and tour the numerous recently-completed renovations and upgrades we’ve made that have received overwhelmingly positive reviews by our residents. The blue tape you reference is customarily used by professional painters for marking and trimming during the multi-layer painting process. While you may not see the painters every day in your corridor, they have been on the job without interruption and the interior painting across all of the buildings is scheduled to be completed by the first week in August. We have also installed new carpet throughout the three buildings and I do not understand your reference to a black flooring material. I can assure you that our materials are environmentally sound. Regarding dining, we have comment cards on our dining tables in all 5 dining venues, we have a Dining Committee under our Resident Council that meets with us monthly, we have new and highly qualified individuals serving as Dining Director and Executive Chef, and our overall resident feedback regarding food service has been excellent. Of course we are eager to satisfy your individual preferences and welcome your suggestions and ideas via the Dining Committee and/or comment cards. In closing let me say we are proud to have invested several million dollars in recent improvements to our beautiful community and I would welcome a call from you to discuss any and all concerns you may have. Sincerely, Kelly Mazza, Executive Director Posted on behalf of Kelly Mazza.
we have talked to the management. nothing changes. very pretty pictures of the food. no comparison to reality. tasteless meals. lip service is the only service here. remember the sales pitch is simply that. a sales pitch. they will describe things that are incorrect and/or do not happen. management is not interested in honest feedback. despite how they respond to these reviews. we have talked. they were clearly uninterested. very insincere and deflected every single suggestion and critique. they do not accept input despite the pretense . hesitate to believe the sale team when they give you the pitch. do not believe the responses of management to these reviews

My loved one is very bored and though won't admit it i can tell very unhappy with this move. There is an inconsistent response to a call for help with apartment issues. Someone may show up in 10 minutes, or not at all. The food is mediocre. The pictures in the brochure do not coincide with reality. We were told several things that turned out not to be true. When you bring it to there attention they deny they ever said it. The activities are boring and really not geared to someone who can still think. I feel very badly that we chose this living situation. Moving out would cost about $70,000 since they keep 20% of the 'buy in" fee. My loved one walks up and down hallways floor to floor looking for someone to talk to and always returns back home deflated because not one is around. This s not what was expected

My parent is bored to death since moving there. The activities are boring, nothing really stimulating. There really is not a social atmosphere here, despite what they tell you. Pictures in the brochure are very misleading. The food is not good and there does not seem to be any indication that it will get better. There were a lot of things described to us when we toured that turned out not to be true. For the amount one has to pay to live here i would say keep looking elsewhere.
