The Inn on Villa Lane in Napa, CA
4.4

Staff is friendly and caring. The Inn is clean, but they are short staffed (like every other facility). Things like cleaning carpet can be delayed. Communication with family is excellent. The move in process was very good. Facilities helped with any hanging of pictures or installation of mobility aids. They have a chef and the meals are very good. There are always "not on the menu" options if she doesn't care for what's offered. They are looking to hire a couple of key employees who left due to long commutes. They need to fill those spots. My family would recommend the facility. It's not too big. Very much like family.

Springfield Place in Petaluma, CA
4.0

We toured a few different communities and this one seemed to be the best fit for my mom. She is doing well here. She is starting to meet new residents and make some friends. She is participating in some of the activities. She really likes the food. The community is always clean and well maintained.

Clearwater at Sonoma Hills in Rohnert Park, CA
4.6

I looked at 4 different assisted living facilities and Clearwater at Sonoma Hills was the first that we toured and they set the bar high. When you walk in, you feel like you are at a Marriott hotel. It is only 2 years old so it is more modern and has amenities that other places do not have. For example each room has a live electrical outlet with a red plate meaning if the power ever goes out, that one outlet would still work. They had a room available right away so we just put a deposit down and the move in process was easy. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

Learn More About Independent Living in Santa Rosa, CA

Surrounded by redwood forests and the famed wineries of Sonoma County, Santa Rosa is a gem of a retirement destination. Creekside trails, nature and wildlife preserves, open-air shopping centers — they’re all waiting to be explored year round in the ideal Mediterranean climate of the North Bay area. Perhaps the city’s best-known attraction is the Charles Schulz Museum, where visitors can view giant recreations of Charlie Brown and the other “Peanuts” characters, but the Railroad Square Historic District and Pacific Coast Air Museum also capture local Santa Rosa history and host annual events. It’s one of California’s most visually appealing locales, too — popular movies have been filmed in and around Santa Rosa since the 1940s, so keep your eyes peeled.

Independent living communities — also known simply as retirement communities — in Santa Rosa are geared towards seniors who are able to live on their own, without daily assistance, and prefer to live among people their age. This usually means residents are self-sufficient and do not require hands-on care. Think of Santa Rosa retirement communities as age-restricted (typically 55+) complexes, which provide organized activities, meal services, and transportation.
