They are always friendly to family and mostly they are kind and caring to my father-in-law. His personal space not always as clean as we would like. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would give The Atrium a solid C average. There is definitely room for improvements, I have issues with management and our loved one has some issues as well.

I thought the Director was good as well as the ladies at the front desk. I honestly did not like the nursing staff. It's a nice place if you don't have a lot of issues....but once you start to get some medical issues, it would not be a place I recommend. They also just gave us a big price increase.

I haven't seen one staff member that has not been helpful, and cheerful. My father had to move to memory care and I just recently got the added money from the VA to pay for it. I just received notice they are increasing rates $[removed] a month so I might have to move him

There was an issue with disruptive noise from a neighbor that was resolved quickly. Repairs and maintenance requests have been responsive. Activities coordinator does make personal calls to residents to involve them. There is on-site physical therapy (third party) and a hair dresser, which are nice extras.

I just think the aides should do more but I understand it's an assisted living. They are nice but don't go that extra step. I'm sure it's just that I think they should. I'm disappointed in the meals. Mom is a vegetarian and they don't have a good menu. However she doesn't ask for anything special.

She had a great experience at The Atrium she was there for two years. Unfortunately she ran out of money (the rent more than doubled), and the stopped taking Medicaid for rent . Also her health has declined, she is unable to get out of bed on her own and no walking. She really misses the Atrium. All the staff were kind, helpful and considerate The facility was always clean.

My mom is currently at The Atrium and I could not be happier. She has a studio apartment but the size is perfect because she is never in her room. She is always out and about with her friends on trips or doing activities. She loves the food (a lot of options) and their chef even put one of her favorites on the menu! I wish my mom would have agreed to make the move sooner as she is definitely more active and happier overall.

My parents are currently residents at The Atrium at Boca Raton. They have kept up on their part, which is to allow my mom to spend the day on the memory care floor and then spend the night with my dad on the 4th floor.

I would caution against contracting with this Assisted living facility. New management is destroying this ALF. Since the new management arrived, there is high employee turnover in reception, food service, medical and social departments. Contracts are not being faithfully honored, and they are pushing residents toward traditional Social Security and away from SS HMOs so they can bill additional services. It's all about revenue maximization performance per room for management. Their corporate office is probably driving facility management in this revenue grab at the expense of residents and their loved ones. As a result, services, community activities, and food quality have all declined under the new management. There are plenty of ALFs in Palm Beach and Broward who place the resident and supporting family above corporate revenue grabs. My opinion and experience with this ALF; you should look elsewhere to place your loved one.

Response from The Atrium at Boca Raton
February 23, 2024Thank you for your kind words. We are sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one and grateful you had a good experience with us and that we were able to make you feel comfortable about your decision.
My loved one is currently a resident at The Atrium at Boca Raton. The lower level staff seem to be a little unfriendly and communication with family members and upper level medical staff could be improved. However, I still would recommend The Atrium to others.

Response from The Atrium at Boca Raton
February 23, 2024Thank you for your feedback. We are always striving to improve our services. Please reach out to the Executive Director to discuss your concerns.
I would say that The Atrium at Boca Raton is an above average facility. It is not a skilled nursing facility, so that is an important part. My father-in-law went in with a catheter. There were limited things that they could do for him. We could have an outside agency come in and take care of a few of the medical needs that he needed support with. The place is clean. The food is good. My father-in-law does not complain about it. The atmosphere is nice. There is no smell to the place, which is I think the important part is. There's a wide range of people there, as far as age! They have a beauty salon and they have different activities. They have a bus that takes them out for shopping, to the doctor and those kind of things. As for the move in process, we did most of it ourselves. I think if I'd had someone come in and just move things, it might've been easier. I was kind of surprised that it was a bare room and that you had to provide everything, including the bed. So there's a little kitchenette, there's a closet in the bathroom, but there are no tables chairs, TV, or anything. Everything is provided by the resident.

I was not at all impressed by The Atrium at Boca Raton. The facility was so dirty as well as the rooms. I went to the restroom on the first floor and could not get out of there fast enough, it was so gross.
They have lots of activities and outings to keep the residents busy. One thing they could improve is better service for doctors appointments. I picked this community, because of the facility and price.

What we really like about The Atrium is that It's a beautiful facility - feels like a hotel when you walk in! They offer a ton of activities but it's not a huge place so easy to get around. The quality of care and the overall value for the money gets a 5+.

We had a wonderful tour experience with The Atrium at Boca Raton and really liked the director. To us the facility just did not have that homey feel that we were looking for. The staff were great and gave us a good thorough tour and answered any questions that I had.
We had a nice tour experience with The Atrium but we were not a big fan of the facility. We felt that it was too small for our loved one. We were looking for a place with more independence and this was just not the right fit.
This to me was a typical community. There wasn't anything really special that popped out to me or my loved one when looking at this community.
