This is more specific to my situation, but I think in situations like mine where I was putting my mother there because I was 800 miles away, I would have liked to call and get updates on her easier, but I also understand that my mom made it difficult for staff to do that. Also, I wish they would have been a little more bluntly honest with me. I knew my mom was causing some headaches, and I wish they would have just told me. They wouldn't have hurt my feelings and I wouldn't have been offended, I know she can be a handful. However, without anyone telling me, I wasn't able to address it 1-on-1 with my mom. All of those things are minor, we had a good experience overall... Read more

It's a beautiful residence. The rooms are nice. The staff seem very caring for the most part. And the food was excellent. Residents could order off a menu, which was nice. I liked that there were three levels of care, and switching levels was accommodated very easily.

We had a virtual tour with Sunrise of Upper St. Clair since it was in the middle of the pandemic. It was a nice facility, but it was hard to get a good feel for it since the tour was not in person.
If you care going to deal with a community for your loved one this would be the one that I would go with. Out of all the ones that we looked at this is a decent place for your loved one. They have activities like sing along, piano, movies and more for the residents to do to stay busy.

I really like this community and I like the person who runs the place. In our case there was a little miscommunication with our loved one. I would be sure that everyone is on the same page and know what is needed for your loved one.

We knew this was the place solely on our mothers reaction, she said "it felt like home."

This community was very nice, expensive, and did not have private rooms available that were in our price range. would have only been able to do a partner suite and that was not what we were looking for.
The facility is a lovely intimate setting like a home plus greeting from their dog made my Mom smile. We are taking my Mom to another facility to help her decide which one she’d like to move. Met all the staff who were professional and friendly

We toured this community and the staff was very nice accommodation and answered all of our questions. The pricing was higher than others in the area
My mother was a resident of Sunrise of Upper St. Clair. The move from her forever home to the big house on the hill of Sunrise of Upper St. Clair was a huge change and adjustment. It did provide her a social connection with the outside world though with others in the same boat and for that reason and the ability for her live without the responsibilities of living at home helped in her in dealing with age related decline. The staff provided all of her creature comforts with care and compassion. It was a rich environment with good dining and recreational opportunities that met her emotional needs to a high standard of care. I thank the community at Sunrise all the way up to her last days. Everyone loved my mother at Sunrise.

Our loved one tells us all the time that the food is good, and due to the covid restrictions all the activities they normal have are put to a stop. We just have a really good feeling that our loved one is well taken care of there. The grounds in the summer and fall are beautiful with all the gardens. We were able to visit outside last year on the porch and just being able to sit our there with the flowers was very nice.

I would recommend they look elsewhere. The community is high in price. I couldn't get my loved one out of this community fast enough. My loved one kept pushing the alert button as she had fallen on the floor. The nurses left her, since they were too busy. The floors were never swept when I went to visit. They only provided one glass of water and coffee. If you were lucky you might get what you ordered food wise. The wait staff was the same as the ones taking care of my loved one.

Nice enough folks. Not enough care givers. Old style technology. You can push your pendent and wait for 45 minutes to respond. Dangerous stuff

I had a very nice meeting with [name removed]. The facility does provide a feeling of being at home but in a larger setting. The tour included a visit to two different room arrangements. You'll have to request a visit to experience it for yourself.

This property is so wonderful! I would give anything to place my love one here. The staff team is very nice and very accommodating. Unfortunately it is just too expensive for me to move forward with them.

My wife was here for about a month then I had to bring her home. They billed you separately for everything so it got to expensive there. But the staff was nice and helpful. She would eat well 3x a day. It was clean in there and cleaned her room 1x a week. I would recommend this place if you have long term insurance.

Very nice facility. Staff seemed friendly. Very geared towards memory care. Staff do not wear scrubs or uniforms to make it a much more warm, homey environment. Lots of good activities for memory impaired residents.

We have been happy with the care from this community. The staff is very attentive to her needs. We like the menu of the meals that we have had. I like knowing that the community is clean and the environment it good for her. The keep her active with a lot of the great activities. We would recommend this community for other families.

Sunrise Senior Living of Upper St. Clair is a wonderful and welcoming community. I like that it is an open and bright environment. The staff is very friendly and caring and welcoming when we come to visit. My mom enjoys the many activities they have to offer such as exercise class and going to the rosary and mass, but her favorite activity is breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The food is very good, they offer a wide variety of choices that you can order off of the menu. The landscaping is just beautiful, reminds me of a conservatory, the flowers are in bloom and the garden is almost ready for the residents to pick vegetables. I would highly recommend this community to others.

I was not happy at the end of my tour of the Sunrise Senior Living. The lady that took me around, [Removed], was like a car salesman. When I was leaving she told me "you'll be back". She did apologize to me after but the place was not a good fit for my loved one.

Beautiful facility. Not sure my family member would like the "neighborhood concept".

A Place for Mom has scored Sunrise of Upper St. Clair 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
